I checked in for three nights. On the evening of my second night I returned to the hotel and my room had been entered by staff and my sheets, blankets and towels were removed. It was 1030PM and I was told on check in that staff would not enter the room due to COVID. I went to the front desk and it took nearly 30 minutes to get it sorted out. I asked for the manager to call me and I'm still patiently waiting with a charged phone. Staff sent someone to the room and confirmed it was empty and not usable while I waited in the lobby as if I had made it up. I finally asked for another room and the staff agreed. In the morning I returned to the front desk and had the unpleasant experience of meeting Georgia who was busy rummaging through her Dunkin Donuts order. She was rude, inconsiderate, loud and defensive. She basically said that happens all the time as she touted her experience at various hotels and attempted to portray a certain level of experience that clearly does not include customer service. I asked for a credit for the night or a voucher and with an eye roll, attitude and elevated voice she indicated that I would need to join some sort of Hilton program. My experience was poor and I only hope that Georgia's remaining time as an employee is matched by the length of my short stay. The "Hilton Pledge" posted at the property is nothing more than wall art, as your front line staff has neither the interest, desire or fortitude to meet the simplest needs of guests and their security. If perhaps the scale had an option for less than 1, I would have certainly selected it. I feel confident that as I share my experience on social media, guests will think twice before booking a room at this property. I have stayed at many Hilton's over the years and this is the first time I have had an issue and it's clearly related to management or perhaps the lack of.
Lastly, I have forgotten to share the best part. Georgia suggested the possibility that someone other than staff had perhaps entered my room and removed the blankets, towels, pillows, and soap. Georgia said "How can you prove it was our staff since cleaning your room was not on our list". - a true managerial maverick if...
Read moreMy family and our pup stayed at the Courtyard in Danbury while visiting family for the holidays. We stayed there for 10 nights, including Christmas and New Year's Eve/Day. I was pleasantly surprised at how great our stay was. Sylvia, Jonathan, Brianna, Jennifer and Joe at the front desk were all incredibly friendly and helpful. They were really kind and welcoming to both our family and our dog, Cheerio, and helped us with anything we needed, extra towels, directions, restaurants etc. The hotel was also much nicer than I thought it would be and has obviously been recently remodeled. The rooms were nice and very spacious, especially for the Tri-State Area. There isn't a lot of storage space (drawers), but most people aren't staying too long anyway. We didn't go swimming but they have a small indoor heated pool that a lot of families enjoyed. The lobby area is quite large and has a huge flat-screen tv and lots of comfortable chairs and a couple of couches. Also, the Courtyard is in a very convenient location. You can walk 100 feet and there is a great steak restaurant next store and it's close to Target, CVS, and the border of NY/CT. There were a ton of restaurants to choose from that were 10 minutes or less from the hotel. Also, there were plenty of places to walk your dog around outside the hotel. The only thing I would do differently next time is to request a room on the top floor. You can hear everyone walking around above you, and my dog would freak out thinking someone was trying to get into our room. Other than that, we will be staying there every time we go up for...
Read moreWe were there for a wedding, the bride and groom reserved a block of rooms. I had reserved a month ago but when we arrived, after driving 6 hours and needing to be at the rehearsal dinner, our room was not ready. The women at the front desk provided no explanation or time frame of when it would be ready. She also smelled VERY strongly of cigarette smoke, so much so that I needed to walk away. By the time our room was ready, we did not have enough time to shower before the rehearsal. On the second day we noticed ants all around our fridge and bathroom area. We were extremely busy that day with the wedding so unfortunately did not have a chance to let the front desk know, so just cleaned them up as best we could ourselves. When we arrived back to our room after the wedding, our heating/cooling was not working. It was after midnight at this point and we were leaving in the morning so we didn't feel it was worth the hassle to have someone come look at it. Our room got very, uncomfortably hot during the night though, causing us to have to open the windows even though it was raining. For what our friends paid having their rehearsal there, a brunch the day after the wedding and all the rooms that were booked off of their block, I expected a lot more and feel embarrassed for them. Overall, I found the hotel dirty, out dated and the customer service at the front desk poor at best. We will never be going back and will be telling our friends once they return from their honeymoon in the hopes they receive some sort of...
