Went in with my son for his final fitting for the suit he is to wear in his brother's wedding, which is a month out. We walked, in my son spoke with a young lady and she said no problem. Then Michael appeared and told us the final fitting is only when the suits arrive at the store which is a week before the event. And the groomsmen would receive an email letting them know. He was very dismissive, We tried to explain that on the day they all came in for the first fitting, they were told they would have to come in about a month before the event for a final fitting. He wouldn't even listen to us. I couldn't even bring up the fact that my brother had been in there at the beginning of August for his final fitting and there were no issues. It's not like they were busy, there was nobody else in the store and two free employees. How hard would it have been to have him try something on to make sure it's the right size???? On the way home, I decided to look up on the website what the general rule is about a final fitting. And sure enough there it was, no later than 15 days before the event you are supposed to come in for a final fitting. So when we got home, I called the store and spoke with Michael. He was very rude, I tried to ask what happens if somebody has lost or gained significant amount of weight and you only have one week to get another suit in, again he was very dismissive and went on about renting cars .... Cars? yes cars.... I was confused as well. I asked him about the policy on the website and he gave me a number to call. I called the number and emailed twice I have yet to hear back from Jos A Bank. To make this even more mind-boggling, I get a text from my future daughter-in-law today. She is at the store with her fiancĆ©, my son and one of the groomsmen and wouldn't you know it! They are doing the final fitting. Apparently, Michael wasn't working today, two young ladies were and they were very helpful. I honestly I don't look forward to going back in that store, especially if Michael's working, he reeks of arrogance(no idea why) is so unprofessional and has no idea how to deal with customers. Fingers crossed the two young ladies are working. š”Update, today I called the store to inquire again about their policy on doing a final fitting. The gentleman I spoke to this morning told me that thier policy is you will get a "call or email three days before the scheduled event when the suits come in" He also said that my brother did not come in at the beginning of August for a final fitting/Measurement. So I guess my brother lied. He also said that my son and one of his groomsmen were not there the evening before getting a final fitting unless their suits were in, they were not. I went on to tell him the young ladies helped them and he said well they shouldn't have. My mind is blown at the ridiculousness of all of this. I don't understand how you wait three days before an event for someone to come in for measurements and a final fitting with the chance, at three days before an event, you may not be able to something if a change is needed. So far, 2 groomsmen have need their suits in different sizes. If I could change this to zero stars, I would. š”š” update #2, today, Six days before the wedding, the groom and the groomsmen received their emails to go pick up their suits. My son and one other groomsmen came home with their suits. I asked if they had them try them on to make sure everything fit and they said no it wasn't even offered. They were handed their bagged suits and sent on their way. I had my son try his on... And the shirt is too damn small. He has not gained weight. He has not lost weight.... sooooo whoever measured him originally got the numbers wrong AND had he been able to go in for a final fitting a few weeks ago they would've known but nooooooooo Michael doesn't allow that! He's got a shirt with buttons that are fighting to do their job. None of this makes any sense. I will never recommend the store to anybody in fact I will go out of my way to tell them to go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis store and the experience of renting tuxedos for our wedding was an absolute nightmare. 1 groom, 3 groomsman (all same tux & colors), 1 father of the bride, 1 adult ring bearer (same suit & colors). NOT DIFFICULT. And this is the short story!
Went 3 months early to look at colors. Chose some, placed the order and would call to make appointments. I changed my mind on TIE colors. Called to have them corrected. NO ONE could change the information in a computer but 1 person. That employee was NEVER there. 1 month later I finally got the colors corrected. HA, so I thought.
1 month before wedding..2 HOURS in to our 2nd visit, they have my dads name on the grooms measurements, the groom not even measured yet and my son was measured 3 times by 2 different people. 1 HOUR later, I walked out with photos of the receipt with my dads name on the grooms ticket and a verbal agreement that it would be corrected. Deposit for Groom's tux and son's Tux paid for via CC. Dad paid cash for his, that day. Obviously, this wasn't going to be trusted. 3 phones through out the week to make sure Tuxes were AS ordered, color, size.
Low and behold, send guys to pick up. ALL groomsman tuxes had different colored vests and tie. Like a rainbow. 1 Groomsman's Shirt was the equivalent to a Medium... HE IS 6' 3" & WEIGHS NEAR 300 pounds. A medium, really? My dad, the sleeves were so long, you can't see his hands. And they wanted my father to pay.... again. And they wanted the grooms payment. He was supposed to get a free Tux with the rental of all of these others! At $269 a tuxedo I was EMBARRASSED to have to ask our wedding party to pay this much for such poor quality of EVERYTHING.
After the wedding, dad went to drop off his, they wanted him to pay! AGAIN!
I have gotten my photos back. My groom, my husband... if he wasn't standing perfectly straight, his tux rode up to his ears. When he put his pants in his pockets the entire suit bunched, he looked like a clown. The same exact tux on others was ridiculous on him. Thank God men aren't as self conscious, because his tux made him look like a cow when he only weighs 205 at 6'. I included 2 pictures with this review, my photographer took 2,000 photos... imagine my time spent searching 2,000 photos finding good ones where the GROOM doesn't look like these.
I have never been so disappointed, angry and mind blown by the lack of common sense in human beings as I am with this store and its employees. I will never use or refer Jos. A. Bank to anyone, anywhere...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDO NOT GO HERE!--These guys don't even deserve any stars..I didn't rent from them THANK GOD because I got measured in NJ and picked up my tux in Paramus, NJ but the groomsmen did. AND They got all the wrong measurements for all 6 groomsmen, did not charge us properly and did not contact us that the tuxedos came in leaving us with only 2 days to adjust measurements before Wedding Day! If you want a stress free rental DO NOT go here! The service was terrible..they are not staffed enough because when we asked for the tailor..they weren't even there. We had to wait for about 25 minutes before we were helped and best of all they do not have answers to your questions. When we asked them to make adjusments they told us there was no time left to make them and tried to convince us that the tuxedos were the best fit we were going to get AFTER the fact that they forgot to contact us that the tuxedos arrived for pick up. (you are supposed to get a call from them 2 weeks before the date of the wedding so that you have time for adjustments) It was obvious they were either too small or too big on them too. The Groom even had to return his tuxedo and buy a whole seperate tuxedo from MACY's because they got his measurements wrong. If you want to rent a tuxedo from Jos A Bank still, at least don't do it in DANBURY--HORRENDOUS--Who ever said this place is highly recommended, they are lying and probably got discounts to write a review because they suck so badly. You'll also notice they have a security gaurd now, thats because they have gotten so many complaints from customers about their service people are getting angry at them. Jos A Bank is a great company..but this franchise located in DANBURY makes them look like chickens walking around...
