Iâm giving this store a one star review because when I visited their location about a week ago all I was looking for was a simple package of rubber bands to make my sisters diaper cake for her baby shower and I asked the associate where they would be at and she acted like she didnât know but then eventually said ohhh theyâre over in the back corner?! Like that tells me exactly where they are?! So I walked to the âback cornerâ of the store and all I found was some baby shower decorations?! So I proceeded to try and find them walking up and down each and every isle and mind you I have suffered from extreme pain from suffering from rheumatoid arthritis for 38 years so my back and body were killing me from having to search each and every isle and still NOT finding them and while searching each isle I was constantly searching for an employee to help and ended up finding two that were having their own conversation and as soon as I started to walk up to them they nonchalantly walked away from and obviously moving faster than I was so I was unable to catch up with them to get them to help me and I even audibly kept saying I need help finding something!? But still NO help! So needless to say say I never got everything I needed to make the diaper cake but was able to find some other things to put on the diaper cake so my 13 year old autistic son and I walked to the checkout counter and after standing in line for about 10 minutes I realized I was in the line for returns and exchanges, which was my fault, so I seen another checkout line that looked to be open with an associate at the cash register so I told my son letâs move over here where there was NO ONE In line and the associate proceeded to say to me âohh Iâm closed and the line you were just in is the only open line right nowâ?! So I limped back over to the previous line I was in, losing my spot now because of that and proceeded to stand in line for atleast another 30 minutes before they started to call up more cashiers and by the time another line was was open I was next in the line I had been standing in so I waited to be checked out and then the cashier asked if I found everything I was looking for?! I responded apparently yâall donât carry packages of rubber bands because I looked up and down each and every isle and couldnât find them?! The cashier then responded ohh yes we do! Theyâre in isle 8?! So I responded well I just walked up and down each isle and couldnât find them and I was in to much pain by that time I said ohhh that wouldâve been nice to know when I asked for help before and Iâm surly NOT walking ALL the way to the back of the store to get them when I couldnât find them in the first place?! So I paid for my items and left the store without those damm rubber bands, which I eventually went right across the street to staples and an associate there was eager to help me out! I said all of this to say if youâre working for a store and you see a customer walking around PLEASE stop and ask if they need help?! Because I will NEVER visit this hobby lobby...
Read moreI was looking for something specific in the aisle that carries string, wire, and elastic type string for beaded necklaces. I had asked an associate of the store about a specific item, and he had said he'd get someone "qualified" to help me. I waited for about 3 minutes when another associate poked his head into the aisle. I asked if he was the person I was waiting for. He wasn't, but asked what I needed. I told him how someone before him had said they would get someone to help me, and he said nobody was actually coming because, "Yeah, you'll just have to do your own research. We aren't required to know things about the products we're selling. We're just an overhead retail store, and you're expecting too much to think we should. Nobody knows anything about products." I had mentioned that it actually would be a good idea to try to learn about products they sell. He dismissed me and the conversation by turning his back on me and walking away. Not helpful, AT ALL.
As I'm checking out, the cashier asked if I found everything I needed. I told her I wasn't sure if I had, and I wasn't sure I'd be back if I didn't have what I needed. All she said was, "Well, perhaps he's just tired." Excuse me? The store manager stood less than a few feet from the cashier and myself. He didn't want to get involved, either. He, too, walked away. Moved on to a different customer.
Hobby Lobby is my preference between them and Michael's, but Michael's does at least have a few peeps in there who are knowledgeable, and if they don't know something, they'll find out with you. Bonus, they're also open on Sundays.
Just, Hobby Lobby has more to offer, inventory wise. But. BUT, Michael's has never had associates tell me to do my own research about THEIR products, nor has anyone ever walked away while I was talking to them.
Anyway... yeah. That was my experience this time, and EVERY time I have gone to Hobby Lobby. Nobody knows anything about anything except for the...
Read moreI always judge how good the customer service is, not only by my regular interactions with them, but by how they handle a problem.
Last week I special ordered some flowers that I need for wedding centerpieces. Yesterday I got a phone call asking if I had come to pick them up, I had not. It appeared that they had mistakenly been put on the shelf and sold to someone else. The woman who called, Tiffany, did not try to make excuses or pass the blame, she apologized, sympathised and listed to what I had to say in trying to fix the problem. I asked ifmaybe another store (Moline) had them, and she said she would find out and call me back. She called me back within 10 mminutes to say they only had half as many as I needed, but shehad asked them to hold them for me and gotten them tto agree to the disscounted price my raincheckhad been for. Later, she called me again because they had not been put out and sold, just put in a different place in the back. She put them somewhere easy to find and I promptly went and got my materials.
I am so impressed with how she handled the whole situation! Wonderful follow through, and follow up. That is how you...
