Hot Topic — Local services in Daytona Beach

I just visited this particular store today & it's been my first time in a Hot Topic in a really long time. As soon as I walked in Katie & another employee (I didn't get her name) greeted me & seemed legitimately happy to see me. They were very accommodating & asked if I needed help with anything. I immediately found a shirt I wanted, the store's layout is perfect. If I had more time on my visit I would've bought more but I was in a hurry. However I will definitely be returning as similar to FYE the quality merchandise was overwhelmingly awesome. From the selection of stuff at this store alone I could find gifts for everyone on my Birthday/Christmas list. The employees really seemed to connect with the customers, I saw a very enjoyable interaction with a repeat customer while I was there. To be quite honest, Hot Topic has gone downhill for awhile. It seems like the only thing saving it is the Funko exclusives. And even then, most cool ones are getting funneled to BoxLunch while Hot Topic becomes an outlet for that umbrella company. I frequently shopped at this location because of John and Alanna. However, hearing what happened has me disgusted that a DISTRICT manager would treat store employees like dirt and fire them while the store is very understaffed. Love this store! Brings back so many memories for me from high school and I can always find something fun in here. Plus all the employees are super nice and so helpful. They make you feel welcome when you walk or roll in my case in. We had the pleasure of dealing with Kei on multiple occasions and it’s always a great time! On our last visit we met Elle who is so sweet and helpful. Both of them were there this time and they couldn’t have been more helpful or nice. It’s rare these days to find employees who actually seem to love there jobs and want to help customers so coming in here is such a breath...
