UPDATE: I was indeed contacted by a gentlemen at REEDS Jewelers who offered a very generous solution to my complaint. He handled it professionally and swiftly. As any exceptional manager would. He has restored my faith in his employer by bringing me to a state of total satisfaction. As a result, REEDS Jewelers has earned yet another lifetime customer.
Yesterday I went shopping for a watch. I had seen it online and knew exactly what I wanted. I shopped online at all the usual places. However, in doing my research I learned that the Casio G-Shock line is often counterfeited. So I decided to avoid online shopping and go brick and mortar. Went to Kay and Zales (not realizing they were the same company) no luck. The lady at Zales offered to try and find what I wanted. Then I went to REEDS Jewelers. A very nice young woman named Auralee waited on me. She was kind and courteous and had availability on the watch I was looking for. She quoted me full retail. As these are discounted as much as 30% in multiple online retailers I asked if that was the best she could do. She explained there are no discounts permitted. I hate to pay retail because I'm cheap, lol, but I wanted what I wanted so I said okay. I was with a friend and she saw a watch she really liked. She inquired and was told there was a substantial discount on that model. So she bought it. Now, I'm not too happy. Why was her watch discounted from a higher retail price than mine but mine not discounted at all? I do realize some products are price controlled but that's not true of the G-Shock because they are discounted all over the Internet. I'm not happy with the policies at REEDS but I bought it anyway. I could have walked out. Then to add insult to injury, there's a $50 off coupon waiting in my email when I got home. It's doubtful I'll return to REEDS for any future purchases. I feel bad for the sales associates because it must make their job difficult. I know from past experience that jewelry generally has extremely high profit margins. Surely there is room to satisfy a customer. My family can tell you that I have a thing for watches. I own quite a few. Unfortunately, this will be the only one I...
Read moreI recently added Reeds to my list of local jewelers in search of an upgrade to my wife’s original engagement ring. Having been married for almost 19 years, I did not want to take this mission lightly! My goal was 3 local jewelers and in all honesty, Reeds was my second and last stop. I first visited the Reeds website where I discovered the perfect ring. I then called the Volusia Mall location where I was pleasantly greeted by my sales professional, Brittany. Brittany carefully listened to my preferences and explained that in order to have the online ring available to see in person, I would have to pay a deposit. We both agreed to an appointment to see the in-store selection before proceeding with online options. Upon arrival to Reeds, I was met by Brittany who surprisingly informed me that she proactively ordered the ring I selected online, without any strings attached! Brittany was extremely knowledgeable with regards to the Forevermark diamond collection, meticulously covering all specs including the fine details that I was carefully searching for. Brittany even let me observe the diamond through the viewer to see the unique serial number and symbol that define the Forevermark brand. After seeing my preferred ring, Brittany offered to show me the in-store options, but I politefully declined as I had found the one! I could not be happier with this important shopping experience. I owe this all to Brittany and the awesome staff, including Courtney at Reeds Jewelers in Daytona Beach. I have truly found my hometown preferred Jeweler....
Read moreVery disappointed in our customer service experience. I initially went in on Black Friday to look a diamond studs. I did like a smaller pair that were $250ish dollars, but I knew that I truly wanted bigger studs with more carat weight to them. I took my husband back after Black Friday to look at different styles and compare and found a pair I did like. They were a mid-range price, larger cluster. Lovely, but not in our current budget because we are newlyweds who just bought a house, car, and some furniture for the new house. We did not want to open a line of credit, but might have been open to layaway or coming back in a few months and buying them outright...except that the salesperson who helped us made my husband feel like garbage for not buying me diamonds for Christmas. She kept trying to persuade us to either open a line of credit or participate in their upgrade program and buy the smaller ones that, while nice, I did not want. Additionally, I kept saying that the purchase was for me and I intended to buy them for myself as my first luxurious jewelry purchase as a young adult. The sales person turned to my husband and asked him very rudely, "well, what are you gonna do for her for Christmas, then?!" Like my husband was somehow inadequate for not buying me diamond earrings that I want to purchase for myself anyway. The whole experience put me off of the store permanently. While they were pretty earrings of a nice quality, I will take my...
