Hickory Point Apartments — Local services in Decatur

I love my apartment home. I have lived here for 2 years. You can mostly make it your own. I am allowed to have a decorated patio, a grill as long as it isn’t open flame, a flower bed. I am allowed to hang stuff on the walls as long as it isn’t extreme. It is a mostly spacious place! I love the upstairs and downstairs concept. I love that you can now have pets. I love that you can have a washer and drier hooked up, or there’s a laundry facility on site for very reasonably prices. I love the location. Sort of tucked away and a lot of people don’t know about it. It’s pretty quiet, and safe.

I give it 4/5 because I haven’t really had trouble with the complex staff at all - the rep in the office is very nice, but I wish there was an office rep on site every day, during normal business hours, instead of on Tuesdays and some fridays. Sometimes it’s just nice knowing you’ve got someone in your corner. I also wish they would have done more with lawn care. The only devious owners used to put really great landscaping in. When I first moved here the quality of apartments and the apartment manager were great! Problems were fixed within hours usually, if not immediately, office manager was friendly and the apartments seemed perfect.

I moved out within the last few months after the new apartment manager got there. She started sometime in the summer of 2012. I am so glad I got out when I did. She made my move out a hassle. Tried to change the date of my lease ( I had copies of everything I did with them..keep yours if you live there!) that proved she had no clue what she was doing and/or trying to lie to make us stay.

Currently, I know 1 lady who has lived there for YEARS! She loved the previous manager but can not stand the new manager either. Another friend was forced to move out a month early per his lease..and his lease did not end for another month.

This manager or apt complex has made new rules/ breaking their own rules to make a dime and unless you have proof will making leaving a headache!

We have been living at hickory point apartments for 2 years now , we will be moving out due to a job change . I just wanted to share my experience with our town home and complex . This has been the best town home we have ever lived in . Sooo clean and updated . Has everything you may need , great bathroom space , washer and dryer , great backyard space ! most importantly CHARLI the apartment complex manager was so pleasant and professional from the time we applied until the time of us leaving . She has been nothing but helpful, she responds quickly and does everything she can to make everyone happy . If there is anything we need to know as an apartment complex building she is sure to send out a text and an email to make sure we are all notified about what we need to be notified about . She goes the extra mile to make everything runs smooth . I would recommend this complex to anyone near and dear to me . It’s safe , quite , clean & charli will be the one to make you have the best...
