Where to even start? From the first moment Harpreet and I stepped foot into the Crossover Chicago store, we were blown away by the quality of service and the variety of stunning outfits on display. Mandeep and Parminder greeted us warmly and told us to look around and let them know if we had any questions. This resonated with us VERY much! We had previously gone to Devon Avenue where most of the South Asian wedding stores are located and were constantly haggled by store owners/managers. They would tell us that our vision was not possible and that we would have to settle for other outfit designs/concepts.

At Crossover, not only did we have a consultation meeting where Mandeep and Parminder took all of our ideas and considerations into account, they also gave us ideas without sounding forceful or bossy. This was just our initial meeting.

We had multiple appointments with the Crossover team during the process of creating our custom outfits and getting our measurements as accurate as possible. At every appointment, we were treated very respectfully and were told where in the process we were and what the next steps would be. Around three to four months before our wedding, India was hit with a big second wave of Covid cases. This caused delays in international shipping times. Mandeep sent out a very long and detailed email right away letting us know that they would work as diligently as possible to make sure our outfit delivery time would be met. She was very realistic in her email and in person, letting us know that before the Covid surge, our outfits would have arrived 2-3 weeks prior to our wedding. Now it would be 1 week or even the week of. We really appreciated the honesty and truthfulness.

The measurements were VERY easy as Mandeep and Parminder did a fantastic job relaying what we felt was comfortable. If we preferred more of a tighter fit or more or a looser fit in certain areas. Everything was very transparent. Not only did they dress Harpreet and myself as the bride and groom, but they also did all the outfits for our bridal party and siblings (12 total).

Once the outfits did arrive, Mandeep teared up delivering them to us. You can tell she is VERY passionate about her work and really worries for every single one of her clients. Over the course of just a few months, Crossover Chicago designed numerous wedding outfits for myself (the bride), my husband, and our sisters, and every single piece exceeded our expectations. The initial consultations gave us space to share our vision openly, while also being highly informative. Mandeep and Parminder listened with care and helped bring our ideas to life step by step, which was especially appreciated by an overwhelmed bride! Mandeep even incorporated meaningful elements of us as a couple into the designs, such as embroidered palm trees, a personal detail that made the outfits all the more special!

Even with a shortened wedding planning timeline, they kept us on track and consistently informed. The shared Google Drive made it easy to follow progress and share feedback, and communication, whether by email or in person, was seamless.

Though we live in Milwaukee, the trip to Crossover Chicago was more than worth it. For anyone near or far, Crossover offers an exceptional experience, with virtual options available as well. The process of designing wedding outfits is special on its own, but wearing pieces that make you feel your best on one of the most meaningful days of your life is something truly special. Mandeep is so incredible when it comes to designing the perfect outfits! I shared multiple inspiration pictures and told her a few unique aspects I wanted in my bridal outfit and she delivered flawlessly! Mandeep and her husband are also incredibly honest, genuine people and were very realistic yet open to all my suggestions. For example, I initially wanted a 20 inch train and though they tried, Mandeep’s husband sat me down and explained that because of how heavy the outfit was going to be, a 20 inch train wouldn’t work. The train ended up being 15 inches and it was perfect throughout the day. Not difficult to navigate (especially through our pheras) and looked incredibly gorgeous in photos! Also, Mandeep’s team went above and beyond on the details of my outfit. I love lotus flowers and I mentioned that maybe a few times. My outfit was designed to have a couple of lotuses on it. But they also added a perfectly centered lotus on the center of my blouse which was perfect. Mandeep and her team focused on so many details and made sure that little things were added in - like pockets!! Whoever heard of Indian outfits with pockets!! Both of my wedding and reception outfits had a pocket which were invaluable on wedding day! Last but not least, Mandeep and her team were incredible with alterations. Between my last fitting and when the outfit was ready, I lost over 6 inches in my waist and taking in a fully embroidered outfit with a train was no easy feat but Crossover took care of it, again, flawlessly. Highly recommend them for custom outfits and tailoring. The stress and anxiety of “India shopping” for my wedding were ultimately avoided and my overall experience with Crossover was a HIGE success!
