This apartment was an absolute nightmare. I was living here for about 2 and a half years, and there were constant problems over the years there would be no hot water at times, air conditioning problems that would last for weeks!! And they would mark the maintenance requests as complete, heck even sometimes we wouldn't have water! The property manager would bang on my door in the middle of the night saying that she needs to be let in or she's calling the police, all because the other unit was having a leak problem. I let them in but they still charged me an arm and a leg for not letting them in when asked the first time also made my autistic child cry because there was a scary lady at the door yelling at me to let her in. Also, they LOVE TO CHARGE RANDOM FEES. And it doesn't even have to be on your lease for them to charge you for it. Like the double occupancy fee, that's literally not even on my lease. A lot of times when you put in a request for maintenance, they just mark it as complete or just never show up Also ROACHES!! All the apartments are extremely infested with bugs !! I've asked several times for them to get rid of them, to the point where I had to go in person to ask. And all I got was that they had to replace the exterminator and that the new one would come by and that they never had anyone else complain about it, which is 1000% a lie, and I'm willing to bet the bugs are still there because they never came by to fix it! I was fighting off the bugs for the majority of time i was living there absolutely disgusting!!! The pool is extremely disgusting, especially the back. There needs to be a health inspector coming to that place, not to mention the poor conditions of the apartments. My apartment was falling apart, and the beam that was holding the bottom and top floors of the apartment was breaking off. There were literally 5 inch nails sticking out of the piece of wood that literally could have killed someone. Also, there is black mold in most of the apartments, but they just painted over it. I kept having a respiratory infection and got pneumonia, and I told the property manager about It and all I got was, "If you don't like it, you can leave, like we can terminate your lease right now, and you can find somewhere else to live." Like I just got out of being homeless so I had literally nowhere else to go and they weren't willing to fix the problem itself. They have random inspections, and sometimes those random inspections means a man coming into your apartment while you're getting changed and you have to tell them to get out. it does not feel safe there and you feel like your walking on eggshells most of the time. You don't get a say who comes into your apartment if you tell them no you will get tons of fees on your resident portal the next day Also watch how they word things because they leave out important information. Also, if you are to stay here, document every interaction you have with the apartment. Make sure you ask someone to give you a tour of the apartment because they will give you a half-assed-looking apartment and blame you for the damages that the last person caused. Make sure you know what your getting when I first moved In i signed the lease online they only advertised the good looking apartments in the front and that's what I thought I was getting but sadly it was not they gave me the trashy old apartment unit and before I had asked for a tour and they told me that they couldn't. I also fractured my ankle during the ice storm, and the apartment told the residents to salt the grounds ourselves. I was at work at the time I came home to there being thick cobblestone ice on the ground all throughout the apartment complex. I fractured it in the parking lot near my apartment; of course, it put me out of work, and I'm now disabled because of it and ended up not being able to pay for my apartment, and I got evicted for nonpayment. The point is they didn't care whatsoever and the property manager didn't care that their negligence caused me to fracture my ankle. I DO...
Read moreI think I’ll love living here. I recently moved in (took over someone’s lease) just to see what it was like and feel in love with multiple things. They only have one bedrooms which was perfect for my partner and I. They just put in fresh mulch as well as new flowers which livened up the place. This apartment is extremely pet friendly especially since they have a dog park. So many cute doggies! I am satisfied with the size of my room for the price I got. It even has a patio, washer and dryer, as well as office space! So happy I chose this place!
UPDATE: Been here less than a year, management is never in the office. Also, when you finally get someone to help, they have to wait for a manager. We’ve had multiple maintenance requests just completely ignored or cancelled. Don’t waste your money here. Only if you’re really desperate. That’s all I have to say.
Update: This property needs to be rebuilt. I woke up to a huge bubble of some mysterious liquid in my ceiling dripping on my foot while I was sleeping. When I got maintenance involved, they stopped the bubble from growing but have kept it on the ceiling. Which I hope they don’t charge me for cause I hear they charge you like crazy when you move out. I can’t close my bathroom door and haven’t been able to since I moved in. When I asked for maintenance’s help, they just shrugged and said, “I guess it’s the buildings shifting”. Not really something you wanna hear while living in apartment. They finally fixed a couple of things after about 9 months. The screen door, the window screen that wasn’t properly placed when I moved in. It’s just chaos here. I asked about why I received a Notice to Vacate and I’ve been told I can only talk “in person” to the manager about the issue. Don’t waste your money here. I hate that I signed a lease here and regret it everyday. Let me not forget about this piece of the sign that has been detached for about a year now. Which I’m scared is also letting in cockroaches and anything else that can fit in there.
UPDATE: Since writing this review there have been alot of improvements done to our apartment. We got the bubble situation fixed and they even did the work orders they had previously ignored or claimed they couldn’t do. Remember that you do get what you paid for in this instance. In my opinion I would go building by building and rebuild them into something that will last and not cost so much to repair every week. The property manager really cares about their residents and wants the best for them. It was nice to have work orders completed and things fixed. They even repaired the side of the building.
Update: Moved out and they charged me absurd charges. They tried charging me for 1 months rent even though I had paid an early termination fee. Got that fixed after 2 emails. Now, they are charging me $895 because of a “full paint” and a “full deep clean” not to mention that I specifically told the maintenance man not to replace the blinds because I don’t want the cat to damage them. Now they are charging me for Blind replacement when there wasn’t one in the first place. Steer clear from this place. They only look to take your money. They don’t fix work orders in a timely manner. The manager is rarely in the office and you have to fight tooth and nail for them to get things done correctly for you. The low price is not worth the headaches and you practically pay it back at the end. I’m so glad I’ve moved out. This was the worst living...
Read moreI lived here for 2 years in my 1 bedroom apartment (The Hendrix floor plan if you look it up on the website) and would have stayed longer if my circumstances allowed for it. I really enjoyed living so close to UNT since it allowed me to walk to all of my classes and was also a short walk to the hangout spots at Fry Street. The staff are genuinely friendly and actually want to help the residents instead of just seeing us as a rent check every month, they listen to all of your concerns and legitimately do everything they can to address them. They strive to make your living experience at the apartments as enjoyable as possible and constantly host events with free food that offers a chance for the residents to mingle with the staff and other residents. The amenities are great as well, the pool is very nice and large enough for everyone to enjoy, and there are propane grills beside the pool that residents can use for free. They have a nice little gym above the office for residents to use when you don’t feel like driving/walking to the UNT gym, and they have a dog park for those who want to let their dogs off the leash and mingle with other dogs/residents. The apartment comes with a washer/dryer (no walking/driving to do laundry), fridge, and an electric oven. It is quite spacious for a single person as well and even has enough room for a boyfriend/girlfriend (my girlfriend and I lived here together for the entire 2 years). In the bedroom I have a queen size bed, 3 dressers, the amazon basics double hanging clothes rack, the amazon basics standing 50 pairs of shoes rack, in the living room a 2 person reclining loveseat, a standing book case, a standing mirror, full size coat rack, and a small dining table, and in the computer/study nook a desktop computer and a laptop. I regrettably never used the patio except for storage but it is spacious enough for four people to sit outside and chat. Out of the 4 places I lived at while attending UNT (3 apartments, 1 rent house), Eagle Creek Apartments was by far the best place I lived at. Allowing me to walk to all of my classes and have residents who are respectful of each other (no loud obnoxious music/sound late at night or early in the morning) provided me with a very comfortable living arrangement as I focused...
