I really hate writing a negative review for establishments, especially ones that I frequent and overall like, but the behavior I just witnessed was gross and so un-empathetic, that needs accountability. Overall, I really like this place, but today when the employees allowed an unhoused woman use the restroom (thankfully after she left they did this disgusting and dehumanizing act) but the older heavier set white man who works there took the bathroom key that was attached to a pipe or cylindrical long object (assuming to make it more inconvenient to accidentally take or to steal), and he got the attention of the younger employee, who looked late teens, early 20's wearing mostly black today, and showed himself cleaning off the cylindrical object with hand sanitizer, smirking and making comments suggesting it was dirty because she used it in a shaming way towards her, but trying to be funny and the young man said back yea, you don't know where she may have put that, suggesting she used it in a sexual way. They both said this at the front of the store by the registers in front of customers and laughing with a few of the male customers. This is absolutely atrocious behavior. If you're going to permit someone who is unhoused to use the restroom, which she waited at the front and asked politely to do so, you don't get to also shame her, belittle her and dehumanize her after. I saw her on the way out of the store and she was complaining to her friend that they thought she was being sketchy in there which I understand having policies for no public restrooms, but that was horrific to witness and such disgusting behavior. Also, you should be sanitizing that cylindrical rod every time it's in use by a customer or employee, that's just hygienic practice, but to emphasize cleaning it after she used it and making such lewd remarks about how she used it?! You both should be ashamed...
Read moreOne of the worst hardware shopping experience's ever. I was there today in desperate need of parts to repair a compressor i need for work , i arrived 40 min. Before closing and was having really hard time finding anything i needed ,as is normally the case at this store, as they seem to always be waiting for a shipment or something . I'm constantly told to go to another store for what I need . I was never asked if anyone could help me and had to go find someone myself with little time before closing. That employee, clearly not wanting to do anything but leave ,just kept repeating ," i thing it's a law" regarding pipe thread patterns, and although I was looking strait at a multitude of adapters manufactured specifically for the purpose of ,refused to even attempt to help me locate the proper one i needed and just hovered there yelling me it just wasn't posible . I was never told the time or that the store was closing. The lights were simply shut off on me while trying to consult someone ( employee) and told it was after closing an to go to another store . Wow thanks ! I couldn't even pay for the things i already had. The rudest I've ever been treated in any store ever much less at "ace "a store that advertises being "the helpful place".! As, at this point, i could no longer even get to another store, and was told, to have a good night and come back tomorrow during normal business hours by the obvious manager. I even had to unlock the front door myself in the dark to leave. After what felt like walking the gauntlet of stern faced staff looking at me like i had just taken there first born child from them . Christ what did I do to you people i thought. I left unable to repair my tool for work an will now loose more money and time. I will never be back to ace hardware, and will do everything I can to prevent anyone else from the same, rude, uncaring undeserved experience...
Read moreIf I could rate this one a 0 I would. I usually shop at Home Depot or Lowes but thought I would give the "local" small shop a chance. I had to repaint some things so a tenant could move into one of my rentals. I usually have a painter do this but he was out of town and I needed it done ASAP. I looked online and decided on the painter/sprayer that I was going to purchase. I purchased the sprayer, plus a few misc items. I got home and the sprayer would not spray. I figured no big deal, I would just return the item, get my money back and get a new one. NOPE! The first time I went in there was a younger girl who said that I needed to come back because the purchase was to large and I needed to talk to the manager (I was thinking, it's 175 dollar purchase) anyway I said ok that I would just come back. So, just to verify that the manager was going to be there, I called before hand and spoke with him and made sure I was able to return it, being such a large purchase. So, he said yes bring it in that it was no big deal. So, I bring it in and talk to "Dean" who said he was the manager of the store, he was very rude and now stated I could not return the item because it was a power tool. I told him it didn't work and he argued with me after he plugged it in and said it worked. He never tried...
