He smiled, he recognized us, he was super friendly, welcoming, warm & provided an excellent experience for us as customers.
We got there early & the place was pretty empty and he really gave us a VIP treatment. We never expected that but he was really a superstar in how he interacted with us and treated us. I’m now giving Gerard’s 5 stars and this is to show that one employee really can make a world of difference! I highly recommend this spot if you’re a serious pool player.
I've been here twice. Once after First Friday Art Walk with a group of friends. It was packed and I ended up leaving before we got a pool table but I can say they their drinks were on point. They only have one white and one red wine option but the white was decent.
I then went here with a girl friend a week ago on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't super busy and we waited 10 min or so for a table which wasn't bad at all. Their tables are in good shape, they have enough pool cues and chalk and their per hour price is decent ($11/hr).
My only complaint and the only reason for giving them 4 stars vs. 5 is the bartender that was there when we visited was a complete jerk. Didn't acknowledge us for a while when we arrived at the bar (again, wasn't very busy--he was helping a customer but had his back turned to us for a while). When he finally attended us he was short, terse & dismissive.
When we asked what he had for wine he said "We only have red or white, we're not fancy like that." I was like, "No one said you're fancy nor are we're looking for fancy, just simply asking what options you have for wine. Can I see the bottles?" He seemed quite bothered by the request…
I'll def come back here again for the pool and the one white or one red wine (lol). Hopefully, we don't get that same...
Read moreI emailed this place of business as well as called about two weeks ago and wasn’t contacted. So seeing as we faced a pretty big safety violation I am writing my first ever bad review for a business.
We went there to celebrate my friends birthday and while we were there we had a decent time. However, after leaving, a man who was NOT with our party when we were there asked the bartenders about us. The bartenders went on to tell this man where we had headed. The man that was asking about us has been harassing my friend obnoxiously for weeks and wasn’t welcome with our party. The bartenders put two intoxicated women in a potentially very dangerous situation. Fortunately we were able to leave without much trouble- but it ruined my friends birthday and the night ended hours before it was supposed to.
The next time this happens those bartenders could be sending an abusive ex boyfriend/stalker in the direction of a less fortunate group of girls. I am still appalled that they put us in that danger and disappointed that management didn’t find this issue important enough to contact me about our experience.
Don’t go here if you want to be in an establishment that cares about...
Read moreInitially thought the place was pretty cool, until the bartender came down to our table and told us we needed to give the table up because there was a wait list. He said we could put our name back on the waiting list and could play again when another table came available. Gerard asked if we had a good time, and explained to him that the bartender made us give up our table. He said this was normal policy on busy nights after 6pm, however this was at 4pm on a Monday afternoon. My friend and I were in the middle of a set, and had to quit. I have been playing pool more than 20 years, and I have never been forced to give up my pool table, or have ever seen this happen to anybody else. I have been to Gerards several times, and have had to wait for a table for more than 30 minutes multiple times without an issue. In my opinion this is unacceptable and terrible customer service! I will never go back to Gerards again, nor will I recommend this pool hall to anybody in the future. STAY AWAY...
