Last night I visited the location on (9th and Colorado) at 6:30pm and had a very disappointing and quite frankly concerning visit. I scheduled a traditional dipping powder manicure (and needed one extension for a broken nail) with plain color (no design) and already in the shape they needed to be.
The tech was very kind but unfortunately grabbing one of the two #115(s). I immediately pointed out that this color looked different than I saw and he reassured me that it might look different on the nail. I agreed to let him do one coat but stopped him before he went to do the second and told him I did not like or choose this color. He got up, went and found the other #115 (the orange color I choose) and apologized. Unfortunately instead of doing it correctly (the tech continuously looked at his phone for the time) he tried to "rush" the process and just do three coats on top of the red. It looked thick and awful but I went with the process. He went continued to the left hand where he did not do the red layer underneath; just three coats of my chosen color. Once he was finished (including filing and rebuffing) the colors were clearly (and obviously) very different hand to hand. I pointed this out to which he sighed but said he needed to redo my right hand. He began the process of redrilling, resoaking, etc. He did everything other than the "pointer" finger because he didnt want to remove the tip. Totally understandable but again...did is "rushed" and didnt remove the red completely. Once he finished the hand again, the pointer finger still had a different color. I was frustrated, but pointed it out to him again. He agreed and redid the nail for a third time but at this point it was close to 8 and closing. He was continuing his "lazy" process and my nail ended up super thick and bumpy. He got up and just left; no "youre done", goodbye, nothing. so I went to the front to pay. and this is where the real issue begins.
Once up there, the manager tells me I owe $60 to which I pay immediately. I then inform them that I am really disappointed in the service. not only was I there for 2 hours (this should be a 45 minute process) but my nails were done 3x and were still incorrect (not to mention sore from being drilled 3x). The manager grabbed my hand and said "I see nothing wrong; you must be crazy". I was floored. I work as a mental health professional so the fact that anyone could use a term that describes illness for bringing a concern; as a customer was beyond unprofessional and uncalled for. I told the manager this felt unacceptable to which he continued to deny my concerns and then asked me to leave the shop.
I have been getting my nails done for 20+ years, and at this studio multiple times before. I have NEVER encountered such a horrible experience and have cried multiple times thinking of this situation.
I didnt want anything done but rather just a space to create an awareness this situation happened. Please do not support a business that could be so ignorant on their language, harm caused, and...
Read moreOne of the worst manicure/pedicures I have ever had. While the salon is clean and in a nice location, for the quality/price you could go to any strip mall nail salon.
Pedicure - I asked for the Signature Pedi. The soaking tub was filled about of inch with scalding water, then topped another inch or so with cold water. I was soaking in luke warm water to the top of my feet. My cuticles were pushed with barely any soaking and then ripped/pulled rather than snipped, so I have ragged cuticles. The nails were filed all the way down rather than cut and it hurt. No callus removal at all. My heels left as cracked and dry as when I went in. The "relaxing massage" was an endless hard rubbing of my calf that was anything but relaxing and my feet were not massaged at all. A second coat of polish had to be requested and the top coat was not applied until after I was at the manicure station, so the tech was crawling around on the dirty floor to apply it. I don't believe she washed her hands between that and the manicure.
Manicure - Again, I asked for the Signature Mani and the service was a repeat of the pedicure. Blood was drawn when my pinky cuticle was ripped. My requested length and shape was not respected and I ended up with square nails just past my fingertip with VERY rough corners I had to have fixed. The buffing was slap-dash so the polish is rough-looking and not smooth. I did not get a massage and no lotion was applied after spraying my hands with alcohol prior to painting them. I had to apply my own lotion.
She rushed through the mani and pedi in such a reckless fashion that the service was not relaxing and the end result looks terrible
2 days later - since the polish wasn't wrapped around the tips of the nails or sealed well with care or a topcoat, every nail is showing through the polish and it's wearing off. My cuticles are swollen and red. I have nothing to show for my $80/ish + 25% tip other really short nails and the need to have this...
Read moreI would give no stars if I could honestly, I had dip nails and went in to get them taken off and changed to regular polish for an event and the guy who did my nails Tam, DESTROYED MY NATURAL NAILS. My nails were long and healthy and thick underneath the dip manicure I had and the tech I had out of state put my dip nails on a month prior really took care to minimally file down the tops of my nails so they would remain healthy. Tam had no idea what he was doing and did not tell me he didnât know how to do dip nail removal. Instead he grabbed another personâs drill and filed the top of my nails down until the natural nails were so paper thin they hurt really badly and were bending a lot. My nails were hurting and multiple times I pulled my hands away and told Tam that he was hurting me but he kept insisting that it was just hot rather than what was really happing, my entire nail being filed away to nothing. When I informed another nail tech that he had filed my nails too thin and I was in pain she apologized several times and finished the manicure for me and informed the front desk what he had done but it was too late my nails were already ruined. The front desk lady said I didnât tell her I had dip nails when I arrived and that Tam didnât know how to do dip nails as if that was my fault? As soon as I told him I had dip nails all he had to do was say Iâm sorry I donât know how to work with those and I would have waited for someone to be available who did know how to rather than have him ruin my nails like he did. They offered me 20% off for my ruined nails which is a joke but I was so upset I just paid and left and I left that 20% as a tip for the girl who finished my manicure. I will never go back to this salon and I caution anyone else whoâs thinking of trying it DONâT you will regret it. It is going to take me at least 6months to regrow my nails enough to where theyâre a healthy thickness again. Steer clear...
