I have no clothes, and now I remember why. Shopping used to be a pleasure. I just spent twenty minutes on the phone waiting to speak to a manager at this store. That was after I sat for another ten minutes trying to trick the robot that answered into connecting me to a department where someone actually answered the phone.
Initially, I hit the button to chose the department I wanted, but ended up holding on in cyber space-not even knowing if the line had connected. Then, I'd go back to the robot's "last menu" to continue desperately trying a random department where a real person might answer.
I finally got through to Clinique cosmetics and waited 20 minutes for a manager to pick up the phone to answer a question about shoes. Then I found out the person I spoke to was indeed NOT the manager, but an employee because the manager had gone home.
I remember the days when shoppers would go into a store, be met by a sales rep with impeccable manners & who would take clothes to the dressing room for the customer to try on. The sales rep would also return periodically to check to see if any other sizes were needed and take the clothes that had already been tried on out to the rack for you.
Shopping was a pleasure. A fun splurge where all of your needs were met. It was fun for the sales women and for the shopper. A quick fun relationship was developed as the sales rep helped the shopper to tweak their style and help them look & feel their best. The shopper left the store feeling like a million bucks and the sales lady felt good about making the client walk out of the store on cloud nine. I know because I have been both the sales clerk and the shopper.
Online shopping is an effort in futility. I won't even bore you with how that went for me at Macy's. Just know it was equally as frustrating.
It's so sad. People don't know anymore how to shop. How to feel the fabric of a garment and check the workmanship of the tailoring. We now buy any cheaply made garment online and are happy with what we get. Quality is a thing of the past.
Customer service and in-store shopping is gone. Prices for flimsy pieces of poorly made clothes keep increasing and people think they've got it made because someone dumps a cardboard box on the door step and calls it convenience, but if you need another size there's no sales clerk to expeditiously help you, No, you have to get a box, get in the car, go to the UPS store, wait in line and ship it back.
What fun is that? What pleasure is there in that? No wonder I have no clothes. Macy's stinks and so...
Read moreI’ve been a long time devoted Macys platinum customer! I love to go shopping at this location because of the 3 levels, backstage… so much to see and try on. Today was awful. I had a few returns to complete on the first floor, I finished and went to the local sports apparel section right to the right of the return counter. A Macys employee greeted me and asked what I was looking for. I showed her a Rockies cup and said not really just looking. She hung out right there in the way to be honest. Didn’t think anything of it. Then I go to the second floor to browse shoes. I’m trying on shoes… I see her lingering across the isle from me. At this point I’m perplexed but assumed maybe she was a manager or something. I purchased a pair of boots. Placed in my reusable Aldo bag then continued to browse the dresses. There she is again lingering! I left into the mall. Shopped a few other stores and returned to Macys (where I parked my car). Decided to visit the 3rd floor backstage and see the sales on kitchen 60% off. I browse the backstage area and tried on some sweaters. I come out of the dressing room and guess who’s standing there pretending to pick up scarves.. the place was a mess, seriously! She lingers while I pay for my sweater. I was completely insulted by a Macys employee following me the entire time I was in the store!! I returned my items with my Macys card, I purchased everything with my Macys card as I walked through each department. What the hell? As I was leaving the backstage check out I finally commented “gee they really have you everywhere in this store, don’t they.” She just hesitantly smiled. Even the backstage employee looked surprised to see her walk behind the counter. I don’t know what that was about but I left feeling awful! I will still visit this store but if it ever happens again I’m making a scene! People of color don’t deserve to...
Read moreWithin 30 seconds of coming into Macy's at Cherry Creek, I had about 3 associates stairing at me and following me. A female working in the mens department was following me around (very oveously) talking on her speaker attached to her shirt. 3 other gentlemen showed up (I am assumingshe called for back up or security) and were talking to her while I was helping my son find a suit for his State DECA competition. As we are looking for ties and shirts the gentlemen keep circling the area and watching me, while the lady is at the cash register stairing me down. I asked for a dressing room, they watched me the whole time I was waiting outside the fitting room for my son. Another young guy at another men's counter started watching us. I turned to look at another rack and I saw the lady looking around a corner at me. When I saw her she turned and walked away. I wanted to just walk out or ask for a manager but didn't want to cause a scene and have limited time frame to find attire for my son. I spent over $900!! My daughter noticed that while i was checking out, one of the gentleman that the cleark had following me around, walked up and she nodded at him (as if to say "it's ok she is paying for her items"), then he walked away. I had limited time frame to have my sons clothing so I stayed because only because I needed to get it done. I was very insulted by they're behavior. I have many tattoos and believe they were profiling me I did nothing weird or crazy. I very much do not appreciate the way I am treated. This is not the first time this has happened to me at Cherry Creak mall. I am a local, law abiding, small business owner, a mother who respects and supports my community. I do NOT appreciate being treated with blatent disrespect for no reason while trying to spend my hard earned money in your...
