Usually, this store is my go-to for candy. The store features a wide range of choices and generally has a fairly young, kind, and diverse staff. However, recently, I have seen a large shift in the way this store operates. Within the last few months, the store has become a lot less enjoyable to visit. My friend and I wanted to try some new treats we had seen on TikTok, so we decided to go to Lolli and Pops, as it has been one of our favorites for years. Immediately upon entering the store, it seemed to be dirtier than usual, and the younger employees seemed irritated by their new coworker, whom we had assumed was their manager, due to the lack of an apron and nametag. We have never seen this individual in the store before, and observed that she seemed almost angry to have customers in the store that she was running, making us leave sooner than planned. After this odd interaction within the store, I decided to take a break from shopping here. Today, I chose to give the store another shot, and I had another peculiar experience. Walking into the store, it seemed to be completely unorganized, with the shelves almost overflowing from the amount of things sitting on them. As I was shopping, I overheard another new (at least since the last time I visited) employee say the N-word and watched the mood of the other employee shift completely, creating a very awkward situation and startling me completely. After getting what I came for, I quickly checked out with one of the younger employees (Maddie?) and left the store feeling incredibly uncomfortable. Writing a review is the least I can do. I then just told my daughter to take one plastic candy and proceeded to go to the register and pay I waited for her and when she came I told her had no need to do that or get frustrated she said rudely we do it whenever any customer Puts their hand in the jar which is understandable but usually when I go in the men working there usually let us taste a candy before buying a bag .
