This 1-star is actually a negative number 1-star.
I have been in the Cross Dr store 3 times over 4 months. Each experience was worse than the prior one! The most recent was frustrating and humiliating to the point I won?t be back. I signed up for a World Market account and received a 15% discount emailed coupon good until 11.4.3.19. The day was 11.1.19.
The register would not accept my coupon. I was asked to put my phone # in 5 times. The clerk explained that the old register and new key pad did not work well together. She called a manager. I put my phone # in a few more times, then asked her if she could force it to deduct 15%. She did and advised me "she would take the heat for it tonight."
Next up was my $25 gift card, with about $20 left on it. The register would not accept this either. I was advised I needed an alternative form of payment. I again asked what could be done to assist me and I was told there was "nothing we can do."
I was a customer service manager for over 35 years, for a large corporate business and several small offices. I made an award winning career out of finding a solution for anything presented to me. There is NO such thing as "can't;" there is only "WILL NOT" HELP!
I am disgusted by this pathetic display of customer service, and have been CHEATED out of $20. I do not shop lift and do not steal so why can they get away with stealing $20 from me?
I folded the card and handed it to the manager because I will never step into a World...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love this place for some of the unique items. I'm a regular coffee buyer here, getting 2 lbs of whole bean coffee here is half the price of the grocery store variety and tastes way better!! Also this particular location is in unincorporated Littleton so it doesn't incur the same sales taxes. Oh and olive oil, the house brand is a good quality and very cheap also. It's a great place to get imported specialty foodstuffs, really, if I'm making Asian dishes of any kind I can pick up noodles and sauces here with a much better selection than the "ethnic" areas of the grocery store. The kitchenware is also pretty cool, I got all my sushi-making and serving supplies here, and some copper pans, it's good stuff for the price. Quirky holiday/seasonal decorations.... Tl;dr: It's got a bunch of cool stuff and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA bit overpriced for some things but I love shopping here.
EDIT. Do not buy an e gift card for anyone here. I bought one for my mom and it was so disappointing to find that she could not use it in store, or for online orders to be picked up in store ONLY for items to be shipped. What a joke. Way to lure someone into paying extra for shipping. To add onto that every single item my mom has tried to buy with her gift card hasnāt been eligible. I feel like I wasted my money.
Secondly, last time I bought a credenza the men who helped carry it out to my car were arguing the entire time and got so heated they almost dropped the credenza. Not the best customer service that one time, but all the others have been fine.
This is a shame because I loved...
