I had surgery October 30th at 730 and I was in the I you of this hospital until November 8th or ninth. I want to give a quick shout out to all of my doctors Doctor Ingram and all the doctors on the plastic surgery team and everyone that had a hand in my surgery and my recovery you guys were all friendly social and eager for everything to turn out great. I also had leech therapy on my face And surprisingly it wasn't that all of the nurses who had to do round-the-clock care every hour every 2 hours for the leech therapy all of my nurses were great. Except for a few that I will name these R n's were over the top extraordinary perfect I wish everyone in the medical field could be shining mean like one of these R n's. Safe is such an eager learner very social loved his job and he it also loved working with people and it can always show who is there for a paycheck and who is there for doing what they love. I also want to thank Kaylee for my makeshift hair tie and all the help you gave me the first 2 days after surgery which I was the worst LOL like a marionette puppet with all the ivy's coming from all of my limbs. In no particular order I want to thank Seth Kelly Julie Liz Ann And there's another RN I'm sorry I can't remember your name you were so nice did everything to the book and to the policyou were great I just can't remember your name you had long brown hair and a ponytail with glasses. You were great as well this hospital the only thing I can say bad I did not really care for and that was the catheter I had to empty my own catheter multiple times even with the assistance of all my nurses and they even try to fix it to make it betsir butWe should really look into updating the catheters maybe make the tubes a little more narrow and a lot shorter so there's Less problem areas. Nurses already have enough when they're played with helping you surgery and I'm getting you back when your feet among other things like bathing walking and I just want to say thank you to all of the people who had a hand in helping me and to those who I forgot the names I apologize there were a tremendous amount of people...
Read moreI was diagnosed with endometrial cancer a few weeks ago and needed a total hysterectomy. I’m a registered nurse, so I’m very aware of care concerns. There are honestly no words to express how thankful I am for Dr. Shaina Bruce and her entire surgical team. The care I have received from the moment of diagnosis at PENN STATE HERSHEY CANCER INSTITUTE was extraordinary.
I was blessed to be cared for by Dr. Bruce! Her office team was efficient, compassionate, and professional. Dr. Bruce completed her fellowship in Gynecological Oncology (GYN ONC). Her cutting edge techniques with robotic surgery enabled me to walk out of the hospital with limited pain just 8 hours after my surgery started.
Now, three days post-op I’m able to manage my pain with acetaminophen and ibuprofen. I’m up walking, sleeping comfortably, and able to take care of all my basic personal care needs alone.
No one wants cancer. But if you face the challenge, don’t face it alone - consider Penn State Hershey’s cancer institute and Dr. Shaina Bruce for GYN ONC needs. The care...
