I came in at 11:30am through the emergency entrance after being sent here from urgent care. After waiting for 2 hours, I finally got moved to a hall bed (I came in through Pediatric with my mother, as I am a minor.) Thirty minutes after that I finally got an IV and blood work done, and was told I needed to get an ultrasound. Waited yet another 30 min to be transported to the Radiology waiting room, and then waited 2 hours as the 8 staff workers in there chatted and didnāt do anything. I was the only patient in the waiting room. When the 2 hours were up and they seemed to have a shift change since all but one of the workers in there picked up their stuff and left, the last worker walked over to where we were and seemed quite surprised, then proceeded to let us know that the person giving me the ultrasound would be here soon. The ultrasound was quick, and being transported back to my room in the emergency section was as well. 15 minutes after I got back I was informed I would be needing a CT scan due to some very slight abnormalities in my bloodwork. More hours pass, and at one point while my mom was pacing around the room in stress, she saw medical papers of mine with my full name and birthday, just on the counter in the room visible to anyone who couldāve walked in, so great job on the HIPAA violation. After some number of hours, I called the nurse to tell them I wanted to go home, she went to go get the doctor. The doctor came in quite promptly, and after I explained to him I wanted to go home since thereās been almost nothing happening and no answers as to whatās going on with me, (and also that I havenāt eaten since 6am) he told me that if I left I would be unable to get the type of CT scan needed and that my mother would be putting me at risk of dying quickly and without the needed urgent medical care. Blatantly trying to guilt me and my mother into staying, to which we did, because neither of us feel like dealing with any sort of legal trouble. As of writing this review, it is currently 9:03pm, Iām still currently in the emergency room waiting to get the CT scan. So Iād give zero stars if I could, but thatās not possible. I would not recommend coming here if you need fast help, because I really doubt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to the ER with a severe migraine, I waited for over 4 hrs which I expected. However I couldnāt deal with the noise and the lights and when I asked for some earplugs and to be placed somewhere in a darker room, she put me in the hallway with bright lights and gave me a blanket to cover my head because she did not know how to dim the lights. People were walking and talking back and forth in the hallway. Everytime they opened that door my head was about to explode.. so much noise and the blanked still had light shine through.. I was in so much pain..so disappointing. Finally the nurse that called me back which I donāt think she was a nurse maybe a LPN but she sure was one miserable human being and her personality was so ugly, even people in jail get better costumer service. The resident doctor wasnāt much help they gave me a migraine cocktail due to my history with migraines without no testing and send me home when my pain went down to 2..came home my head started pounding still having a awful migraine but I will be never going back to that place..Iād rather drive over the bridge and find a hospital. Their costumer service is one of the worst I have ever come across and their staff probably over worked because they all acted like you should be able to handle the pain. Like why do you run a hospital if your not going to care about your patients wellbeing. Pennstate was one of my places to go to but that ER definitely needs to be shut down! I donāt even understand how their running a business..the only person I was thankful for was that nurse that put my IV in..the rest should be reeducated.. and learn how to perform some diagnosing tests to figure out the problem instead of just assuming itās a migraine and sending you back home without actually confirming what it is. Iām probably gonna have to go back to the ER tonight because my head is pounding still but definitely never again at Pennstate ER...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis emergency is the last place I wanna go,they donāt deserve even one star,I never have a good experience with them in terms of care, even for myself or my babies, but this time I feel disrespected, the last thing that happened is we were switching formula for my 2 months old twins cause the first one always make them upset after feeding, throwing up canāt even gaining weight properly, the new formula is worse, both are vomiting after every single feed (and it was a very large amount, look like more than drinking)I call their pediatrician nurse triage (was Sunday)ok the nurse told me to go to the urgent care or emergency department, urgent care were already closed so I went to ED,after explaining what happening the Doctor told me the plan is to switch formula again or give some medication for nausea,my two months old babies were crying for food cause they vomiting everything,so he asked to bring me some formula and clean their nose due to congestion and waiting to decide what the plan would be,wish was very nice.feeding them and waiting for him to decide, than a nurse walked into the room and said I got you your discharge paperwork,I was likeš³what?where is the plan?the medication or something, she said no medication,ok then what will I feed my babies?she said continue to give them the same formula just a small amount at times (I already did and nothing works)she said yeah.like what in hell you expected me to give both of my preemie babies the same formula who is like a poison for the little bellies to vomiting until dehydrate ?they fussy crying and vomiting.feeding should be fun and not a nightmare,a baby with full belly should be a happy baby not an upset baby, they have been vomiting the entire night and the day.and if there was nothing that they could do ,why the doctor didnāt come in to explain me what happened and why?I hate to say how bad and awful...
