I am appalled about what I experienced today. In fact I broke down in tears after leaving and am tearing up as I speak. I found a couple cute figurines I picked out as a gift for my friend. An employee approached me, pryed my fingers open to the point she dug her nails, took my items then checked my hand again to make sure I had nothing else. She made a scene as if I was planning to steal and that my items would be waiting downstairs for me. Meanwhile I found these items downstairs and had walked around the store with them already for an hour by this point. When she did this I was looking at postcards with my baby sister smiling and enjoying her company. I was having a special day out with my mother and her since we didn't see each other this Christmas. I was humiliated as a 29 year old woman being made out to seem a thief in front of the entire floor. And my feelings were truly hurt... Similar to the one as being a child and a bully steals your toy from you. As someone with social anxiety as it is, this was the last thing I ever needed to happen in my day and I'll most definitely...
Read moreIf you love the thrill of the hunt, Detroit’s vintage gem tucked near Eastern Market is a must-visit. From quirky collectibles to statement vintage dresses, this place overflows with character and nostalgia. Each booth feels like stepping into a different decade, with curated treasures ranging from glass roosters and mid-century kitsch to glamorous prom dresses and racks of retro fashion.
The jewelry and display cases are packed with unique pieces—rings, brooches, and curios that you won’t find in any chain store. The clothing section is especially vibrant, with an eye-catching wall of pinks, sequins, and silky gowns that practically scream vintage prom queen.
Prices are fair and the staff is friendly, helpful, and just as excited about the merchandise as the shoppers. Whether you’re a vintage collector, decorator, or just browsing for fun, this spot brings the charm and creativity that makes this neighborhood so special.
Highly recommend carving out time to explore this spot—because once you’re in, you won’t want to leave...
Read moreWe always visit this place when we are downtown because it's like a labyrinth of antique rooms, however, the vendors are horribly kept. In many spots, it can be a liability. You'll trip or get trapped stepping over items that the vendors had thrown into their spots. Some rooms are either freezing cold in the winter or blazing hot in the summer. There's bad lighting & the ceiling leaks. Most items are poorly marked ( or not marked at all ) and if you are lucky enough to get a price from one of the vendors, it's entirely too high- probably to help pay for their over priced rent. This place is also not friendly to handicapped people. Most items are upstairs and there's no elevator, nor space for those who to get thru...
