READ THE REVIEWS! I'm a college student trying to have fun whilst playing games with my buddies and share it to the rest of the internet. I use a Helicon GoXLR soundboard for all my audio needs and absolutely cherish it. Unfortunately, one night, the headphone port on the back of the soundboard blew out (which I primarily used as my main port for listening). I contacted TC Helicon through a somewhat unprofessional website, and they redirected me to Audio Lab of Georgia... When I contacted ALG, they seemed very short with me regarding my issue, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt, considering they said Helicon dumped all their customers over to them. I talked back and forth with them regarding issue, price, timeline for which it'd be fixed, etc. Boy was that a waste of time; it took them 5 months to fix my GoXLR. Bear in mind they said "a few weeks." It was a $50 shipping and examination fee, which also supposedly went to repairs as well. Unfortunately, after calling numerous times in regards to the repair schedule, they deflected the blame to China, claiming all their parts come from there and they didn't know when they'd be ready. Finally, after months of frustration, I talked with a lovely lady named Wendy, who, after a short conversation, said if I forked up an extra $50 on top of the original repair ($100), she'd have them replace the broken part with in-house parts and have it ready in a week. A week... In total, I paid roughly $150-$170. Lost track after the 5 month delay. Had I known what I know now, I probably would've just sold the soundboard for cheap and purchased a new one. Not to mention the LED's in the board look extremely wonky now, but I digress. I would've given them a 1 star had Wendy not come in to save the day, but unfortunately, it can't get much better than that. I'll end it with this, read the reviews, and seriously consider sending it in. Make sure the problem is worth the time, money, and potential mental frustration....
Read moreI took my turntable to these people in 2022- at the time it was working but had been in storage for over 30 years. I asked them to go through it, and replace any needed parts. Gordon told me they couldn't get to it right away, and I was fine with that. However, I never heard from them so I called after a few months and was told they were working on it but waiting on a part. Called back again a few months later, same story. After a year and a half of no communication or progress I went to pick it up, planning on sending it somewhere else. Gordon assured me they would get to it in the next couple of weeks, so I decided to take his word for it and left the turntable with him. Several months went by, I called again.....was told they really were working on it and just give them a couple more weeks. Finally, after 3 years I had enough and went to pick my turntable up. Gordon was exceptionally rude, as if this was somehow my fault. I had left a $50 deposit when I first brought them the turntable....he initially refused to return that, telling me it was for teardown and inspection which I did not accept. He finally refunded that, but never apologized and rolled his eyes throughout our entire conversation. I wish I would've looked closer at my turntable while I was there....once I got home I realized the spindle was missing and all of the switches were junk (they were good when I left it with them, so I believe they swapped my good ones out with bad ones). These are terrible people, their shop is a dump and as you can see from other reviews they couldn't care less about their customers. Apparently Jerry the owner and his employee Gordon think people are idiots. Never,...
Read moreI will keep this as succinct as possible in order for potential patrons of Audio Lab to make an informed decision. Worst customer experience ever in all of my 50 years. I acquired a vintage stereo console that had a malfunctioning turntable. The cabinet was almost in flawless condition. On October 13th Audio Lab of Georgia said they could take on the project but it may take “some time”. After the console had been in their hands for 6 weeks I called to inquire on the repair status. I was told that these things take time and I should check back in March. On March second I called and it was clear that nothing had been done. As a matter of fact I am fairly certain that they had completely forgotten that I or the console even existed. I was informed that they needed another 2-3 months. I picked the console up today because.... do I really have to explain why at this point?.... upon loading, it became clear that my console had been used to push, pile, and stack other items on with no regard to protecting my property. Gordon stood by silent as we loaded and drove away. So in summary... turntable is still broken, cabinet is marred up to the point I don’t want to look at it, and four and a half months have been wasted. There are a number businesses that I would not recommend. Very few I would actively make an effort to let others know to stay away from. Audio Lab of Georgia...
