Stopped by after work Friday, April 4th to shop the booths. Landed at the Willow Tree display and found the one I wanted. Thought I saw a "new" design where a Willow Tree figurine was part of a wall mount photo frame with shelf, and picked it up to look at it more closely.
Turns out this was NOT a new design, but just a figurine resting on a small photo frame with mini shelf, and when I picked it up by the frame to hold the whole unit safely (who would pick up what seems to be a frame with figurine...by picking up the figurine????)....the figurine slid off and of course shattered on the floor.
I was shocked...especially as there was another figurine right next to it in the same display format, so it emphasized the idea of a new line or design.
When I took the broken pieces to the front to advise what had happened, I was shocked they wanted me to pay for the broken figurine that had broken despite it being due to the shop's poor display choices. 99% of the Willow Tree figurines are resting on normal shelves, but these 2 sole figures are set up in a way they are likely to fall even just because someone walked by.
The worker who went to the back to get the barcode was heard to say "wow, that IS dangerous", and moved the remaining figurine.
I'm generally all for a "you break it, you bought it" policy, but when the shop itself creates a situation where a consumer is at risk to do damage just by picking something up....there's a problem.
VERY disappointed in the sheer lack of empathy and...
Read moreI really like this store but seems empty all the time. There are a couple darling booths that I visit monthly to see what they invent next. I don't like the commercial products that they buy and reprice $$$. This is why I attend the boutique shows. I like different and unique crafts and a couple booth in particular have very talented people. They are side by side on the right hand of the store. One sells darling monthly themed wreaths and little figures, yes UTES are represented!! The neighboring booth sells the cutest holiday items. I love the mummies, witches and scarecrows. I enjoyed decorating for Halloween this year. IF they had more talent like this in the store I think they would find a draw and double the customers. I had to take a picture of her large witch, I mean who does this? That is a lot of work. Look forward to the wreaths and this booth for Christmas decoration. Already cleared off a storage shelf. . Love...
Read moreVery disappointed in their customer service. I purchase a Leafy Treetop calendar from the Quilted Bear every year for Christmas for my wife. I purchased one in December and didn't realize until my wife opened her gift that the calendar was a 2020-2021 calendar (already half way over). I tried returning the calendar and they said they cannot take returns for this vendor (In The Leafy Treetops). I asked if they felt it was ethical to sell a $50 calendar for full price that was already half way over, or if they would be willing to do a small discount given the situation. They just replied that there is nothing that they can do and to contact the vendor. I've tried contacting the vendor in Lehi without any response. I understand that part of this is on me for not noticing that it was a 2020-2021 calendar (outsides aren't labeled) and that vendors rent spaces, but good businesses help take care of...
