Empire Wok Restaurant — Restaurant in Draper

I had such an amazing experience with Empire Wok today that I had to share. I placed a large order for myself and coworkers for lunch, and Empire always knows to bring it to the front desk where they'll call us down. By the time I got the message and rushed downstairs, the delivery driver was gone. I felt awful because I was planning on leaving a cash tip so they were unintentionally stiffed. I immediately called the restaurant and asked if I could swing by after work to leave my tip, and they said they could add it to my card charge. Much to my surprise, an hour or so later I received a text from an Empire employee personally thanking me for something everyone should be doing when ordering delivery. That level of acknowledgement and service to simply reach out and thank me really made my day.

I frequently order delivery from Empire for lunch at work. They are always on time for scheduled delivery, if not a few minutes early. The food is delicious, obviously not Michelin star-level, but exceptional considering the extremely cheap price. I don't usually like orange chicken because it's just too damn sweet, but Empire's take on the dish is super citrus-y with just the right amount of sweetness--it's my go-to order. I placed an order for Generals Chicken, egg rolls and cream cheese wontons through DoorDash and added special instructions to please also include sweet and sour sauce on the side. The restaurant, Empire Wok, in Draper UT completely screwed up my order. When I called them to correct it, they blamed it on not being able to understand the instructions. The instructions were very clear, please include red sweet-and-sour sauce. They gave me a small portion of dry chicken with no sauce and cold egg rolls. Restaurant refused to make the order right and insisted that I disputed with DoorDash. Disputing with DoorDash, They gave me Small credit for a portion of my order Very very poor experience from both restaurant and DoorDash!!!!! The food was good and you do get a lot of food while paying on $25. However it doesn't make up for the fact that the lady taking our order was a complete witch. As soon as we walked in she looked like we were disturbing her from spending time in the lobby with her boyfriend (meanwhile didn't wash her hands after she came back from kissing on her boyfriend and then touched our food). While ordering she rolled her eyes at me because I did not know what we wanted. I had never been here before so I did not know what go get, but the lady rushed me into ordering. After forgetting to order a drink I walked back up and stood behind a guy in line waiting patiently to order my drink. When I got up to order she rolled her eyes again and looked at me like I was dumb after ordering my drink she grabbed my debit card out of my hand even before I was ready to hand it to her.
