I usually donāt give a negative review but would highly suggest people to stay away from this place as it a major rip off. We book an appointment for two manicures for my girls age 12 and 14 for 3.15pm and got late 15 mins. The lady at the front desk is polite and gave us the color palette to choose after 25 mins and asked us to choose the art design from pinterest/google. As we showed her the ones we liked she said it needs foil or acrylic nails etc and asked us to check with the aesthetician later.
We were about to leave as had been waiting for 30 mins and still no words how long it will take (besides realized people that came after us got in ahead of us).
Secondly, The Blonde hair lady with glasses convinced us to gel nail paint instead of regular ( as regular will come off in a day or two)..considering we are doing this for my daughters upcoming graduation next week, I said yes. I didnāt hover over them while she worked and sat on side searching for the art design. After showing multiple design, she kept raising her eyebrows Not this ..Not that one, finally agreed on one design and ultimately put the sticker (6 stickers total), that we could have done it at home ourself (while I was with my younger daughter finding designs).
OK..I guess all is my mistake. Wait this is not done, The 2nd Aesthetician was good as she did an awesome job.She asked my daughter after first finger if she likes it or not or if she want to continue. She was thorough and made it worth coming! I felt good and went back to my 1st daughter and asked her and she said the color was too bright for her skin as she didnāt liked it (due to 5 coats). I asked her to change and the lady flatly said its already set, I told my daughter we will pay to change it but she got too tired already with the whole experience and wanted to be just done and leave.
Last came the payment part, we paid $40 for each gel paint manicure (trimming nails, pushing cuticles with some liquid treatment, application of fingernail polish and 1 pump of lotion at the end), $15 for sticker on my 1st daughter, $25 for second daughter and the lady at front desk charged $120. No breakdown until I asked as No Receipt either. Decide for yourself as pictures are worth a thousand words:- Teal (stickers) and Lavender (actual art).
Now I will have to take my daughter to another place and get it done right over the weekend before calling it al day at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been going to Kenās Nail for a long time. In the past 6 months Ive been noticing that the service and quality of work have been declining.
My recent experience was Gel X which was my first time. My honest review, one thing I noticed that in the back on the nails there are so much clue in the back everywhere. After my service was done I told that lady that theres way too much and its noticeable and I was told that was normal. It didnt felt right to me that while I was paying and showed the lady in the cashier and she said after a few wash it will go away. So fast forward the glue is still visible and looks tacky. So I wonāt be coming back! Getting this service matters whos doing it and who is experienced.
I noticed in this salon there are 2 person that are senior and does really good. But in the years that Ive been coming here they have a selected clientele and only does that more expensive services or try requesting in advance if you really want them.
Other times Iāve been coming for gel pedicures and the quality is hit or miss depending who does your nails. My last 3 visits the nail polish not put right and you can see the corners uneven. Ive asked a few times if they can redo and you just get tired so i just let it be. Last 2 pedi no massage or the hot stones. Maybe different person different style.
Shout out to the only man that works there. Ive had him a few times and he does better than other newbies. Heās the only person who has asked me if I want a drink. That gesture goes a long way since ive been coming here for years and no one has offered!
I didnāt spin the wheel offer that they have with discount for a review so this my honest review based on the services experience...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt often leave reviews, but I just was a bit disappointed with my experience. I went to Ken nails for the first time, due to good reviews that I read on here. I believe the person who did my pedicure was the owner(as he seemed a bit distracted, looking around at everyone else while doing my pedicure). He was nice enough but I have to say that it just felt like he was going through the motions. Nothing horrible happened, but he didnāt do pretty much anything to my cuticles, just went over them lightly with a tool like he was pushing them back, but didnāt actually put enough pressure to push them back. He then put some sugar scrub exfoliant on so lightly that I am positive that it did nothing to exfoliate before he quickly wiped it off. The āmassageā was also so light, I can barely even call it one, it was more like he just applied some lotion very gently. I was happy to see that he got hot stones out but then he just ran them over my legs a bit. Just no pressure at all. I know that a pedicure is more than just the massage (hence me still giving 4 stars) I usually walk out of a pedicure with my feet a calves feeling relaxed and that just wasnāt the case at all. Yes, the polish looks fine (could have been better with better cuticle care) but the whole experience just left me feeling like I could have done a better job myself. On the positive: the place felt pretty clean and the people I interacted with were friendly enough. As a mom who doesnāt get the chance to get out often for this kind of thing lately, I really was looking forward to it and it just wasnāt what I look for in a pedicure experience. I think Iāll go somewhere...
