The communication is so hard and they barely respond to the email when they provided the email for us to reach out if we had any questions. I enrolled my 4-year old son for the first time ever skating experience with the whole season paid up front. Unfortunately, the first class we went, my son refused to go in no matter what we've tried. So I emailed Jennifer asking if there could be any other options to try so we don't lose the whole money. She didn't respond after I emailed 3 times. She was nice to say we could try private class and someone will contact me who was b'cced. Then that someone next contacted me for 2 weeks. I the email Jennifer 3 times for another 2 weeks so didn't respond at all. I understand it might not be refundable, but I just need a confirmation and some understanding that a 4 year old might quit and if there are other options. Simply not responding to address is not very polite. I've tried other classes and if my son was not able to make it, they would either do makeup, postpone to later year or simply refund to me. This place is so far only one not providing any alternatives...
Read moreIn comparing this place to nearby ice rinks it might look old and lack a food court, but it's the experience on the ice that makes it stand out. Why I prefer this ice rink over others: larger than standard ice rink size, more room to skate, no teaching classes during public sessions unlike Fremont and some other places, not a lot of froggers/people crossing the flow of traffic and causing accidents or impeding flow. I've been coming to this ice rink for probably 2 years now and I have seen it improve and hope they continue to provide comfortable and enjoyable skating for all.
I've complained about their bathrooms, water fountain, and not resurfacing during congested public sessions. It took some time but they have installed odor control devices in the urinals, new water fountain (actually nice to use, very happy). Since public sessions have not been congested as much their ice has held up longer and I haven't felt the need to ask for...
Read moreSo thankful for an ice rink so near our house! The owner and staff are so amazingly kind and generous, and the ice is huge (one advantage over Tri-Valley ice). Love that it has a high ceiling instead of a low, claustrophonic-feeling one. Oh, and they have those vintage/old-school, higher-quality-than-just-hard-plastic brown leather skates available! Make sure you size down as far as you can, I was skating for too long in skates that were way too big for me--you want it as snug as possible, lengthwise, without pain. And they keep their rental skates decently sharp compared to other places I've tried. And they have super early freestyle sessions (5:30am, during the school year) available for moms of littles like me who can only get in practice before my kids wake up! :) Thank you,...
