Don't go here. Manager was very rude and disrespectful and Racist towards my friend and I. I called on the phone to ask if they took payment on the phone. I was told yes by the cashier as they also do togo order. Then when we got there we further asked again if someone else could call to make a payment over the phone after our meal, again cashier said yes. After eating I called my Agent who was treating my friend and I for dinner to make the payment and the cashier said ok hold on. He then went to call the so called manager who now came and told us they dont take payments over the phone. I asked but we were told this was fine. Cashier Apologized right in front of this manager that he misunderstood and it was his fault.. manager then turns to me, ignoring his worker and said that doesn't matter and they won't take the payment over the phone as my Agency was waiting on phone to give the information card for payment. She even said what if I send ID which matches with the card, again he said no. I asked this wasn't my fault, i asked multiple times and i was told this was fine before we sat to eat. He further got very rude and said no. My agency then apologized and hung up while I kept going back and forth with this heartless racist manager. After I told him i had no other way to pay, he then said ok I'll take the payment. This was one hour later. By then the agency had closed and wasn't picking up anymore for the night. He got even meaner and was very unprofessional, even though he could have taken the payment before while they were ready to make the payment but refused and lied that the system would not take it if he tried . but then all of a sudden he could now take this payment ?? He further continued to embarrass my friend and I by being violent, rude and threatening to call the police now even though he was the aggressor which I told him to please go ahead !! (He obviously thought i would be afraid of police because we're black)My friend then decided to pay for the food to calm the situation and we left. It was our first time in San Jose and this man ruined our night and trip. That was our first and last time at this restaurant . Do not waste your money. Such an awful way to treat a customer. Terrible customer service. PS I got a response basically dismissing the situation and trying to make excuses for the bad behavior from this business. saying there is no discrimination, but we definitely experienced discrimination with that staff!!! it was clear and definitely personal. He was loud, rude, and did everything to escalate the situation to embarrass us. There is no reason for any staff, especially a manager should be allowed to treat customers this way and work there and all you can do is make excuses for them. He never even apologized for them giving the wrong information twice! He dismissed it and said he didn't care!! Managers shouldn't act this way. Their job should be trying to make customers have a great experience not making sure they loose...
Read moreWe’ve been coming to your restaurant for years to celebrate special occasions, hosting an annual birthday dinner with friends and family. It’s been a tradition because we’ve always had wonderful experiences—great food, fantastic service, and the fun, interactive hibachi experience. Unfortunately, this year was completely different, and we left extremely disappointed.
To start, the service was subpar from the beginning. All of our sodas were served flat, with no carbonation. We never received our soup or salad, which is always part of the meal. The hibachi chef did not provide the lively, engaging show we’ve come to expect—it’s one of the highlights of the evening, but this time it was non-existent.
It was clear the chef wasn’t prepared. He didn’t have all the ingredients ready and had to leave the cooking station leaving eggs burning on the grill while he fetched more rice and vegetables. When we asked for more garlic butter and seasoning—something we’ve always requested—it was disappointing to hear that you were “short on garlic butter.” Similarly, when we requested zucchini only, as we’ve done in the past, we were told you were short on vegetables, which felt like an excuse.
The quality of the cooking was also poor. The mushrooms were barely cooked before they were thrown onto plates, and at one point, the chef dropped chicken onto the table, picked it up with the spatula, and placed it on my husband’s plate. This was not only unprofessional but outright unsanitary.
To make matters worse, the special birthday touch we’ve always enjoyed—a pineapple boat for my grandson—was forgotten entirely, even after we asked about it.
After such a disappointing experience, we were shocked to still receive a bill over $700. This dinner was supposed to be a joyful tradition, but after this experience, we no longer feel comfortable continuing it at your restaurant.
We hope you take this feedback seriously and use it to address the issues we encountered. This could’ve been an amazing evening, as it has been in the past, but instead, it left us feeling frustrated and won’t be...
Read more**This review is specifically for the service we received from the owner and her son.
We were celebrating a birthday and had 27 in our party (both adults and kids). We made a reservation with no issues approximately 2 weeks in advance and were given the option for a pre-fixe menu.
We arrived at the restaurant well before our reservation time and when they were ready to seat us, they did not have enough seats for our party. Again, not a big issue but they knew we were coming and only placed 8 table settings at each station leaving 3 people without seats. We asked if we could use a portion of another table that was open but instead, they asked us to squeeze into the table leading to some of us to having to sit where the corner poles of the table are and/or elbow to elbow with the person next to us.
Once again, not a big issue as we can make it work and we understand that accommodating a large party at any restaurant can be challenging. The issue was with how the owner and her son responded to the whole seating debacle. Their suggestion was to take one of the high chairs and pull them away from the table so the adults had more space to eat. She said they do not count kids and 8-10 people should fit at each table. So how was my son supposed to eat? Keep in mind there is also a pre-fixe option for kids and we were paying for him to have a meal. The headcount we provided with our reservation took into account all guests in our party including kids. They would not allow our party to sit at the other table that was not being used yet which would have been an easy solution however, they just said those tables are being used since it’s a Saturday night. This response was disappointing given that we’ve planned this dinner with enough time in advance to give the restaurant time to make accommodations for our party.
Lastly, the owner could tell we were upset when we finally got the seating situation and came up to us and said we can leave if we want to. This was supposed to be a fun event celebrating a milestone birthday and unfortunately it was overshadowed by poor...
