I made a few calls and found this exact smoker I wanted. It was at this store Academy by Perimeter. Awesome. Cindy, was the most helpful and sweetest delights I could have ever dreamed for. Like she went above and beyond to help me as I was away and wanted to secure this grill before anyone else could. She helped me and I love her for that. Couldn’t be any more professional.
By the time I made it to the store later that evening she had clocked out for the day. But she was so professional she made sure to relay to the team that I should be coming (talk about thorough!)
When I made it there I was introduced to Evan and could not be any more polar opposite. He was extremely rude and passive and just outright NOT helpful. I was asking questions and he had zero answers nor an inkling to even try to find them. Further I was asking about a military discount I saw online and he said they don’t offer that. whips out smart phone yes Academy does here it is right on the official store website. He said he couldn’t honor that stating military discounts only are valid during Fall…… huh???! Makes zero sense not to mention this is mid September… so isn’t this Fall anyways? Me and this goofy Evan went back and forth for 5-10 minutes and he wouldn’t even help. While scrolling thru the app I saw something about if you sign up for the app or something you can get 10% off….. I showed him and he says “yeah that’s always an option”…. I was livid. I asked him why was he being so difficult and didn’t offer this from the beginning and he just stared blankly and stuttered not knowing what to do or say…. Folks were looking at him shaking there heads.
I went along with the purchase and got my discount. Then he says… I can’t make this up…. “I can only hold it for 24 hours” what do you mean? I just PAID for this thing. I’ll pick it up in on Sunday when my brother brings his truck…. Again with the stuttering and nonsense. I just told him I’ll be back and walked away before I really got mad.
This store definitely needs to address Evan. If it wasn’t for Cindy I would NEVER go back. I’m hoping to hear from someone from...
Read moreThis location blatantly harassed & followed my client yesterday for about 40 min or more. She was able to obtain 23 min of it on video; once she realized it was intentional and that they wouldn’t stop. The Store Director’s (Manny) behavior was disgusting, discriminatory, rude, disrespectful & appalling to say the least. His bias, inaccurate judgement & discrimination was a blatant violation of Academy’s Ethics and Code of Conduct Policy.
“Do not DISCRIMINATE or HARASS anyone.”
“Always act honestly and in the best interest of Academy.”
“Follow the law and Academy’s policies at all times.”
“Lead by example and avoid the appearance of ethical misconduct.”
Were ALL direct violations displayed in the video. Not only did he follow her the entire time she was in the store, but had another co worker Naomi follow her, as well as 3 other employees that approached her in the shoe department.
The racism behavior & judgment is unacceptable and I; as well as many others will ensure that they are held accountable!
She purchased $675 (a pair of sneakers & Nike clothing) for all her family members for their Memorial Day cookout celebration & niece’s graduation cookout. Then, returned it because she didn’t feel comfortable patronizing a business that treated her extremely terrible & exuded obvious racism.
All the employees involved in this incident yesterday should not work in customer service, relations or sales if they are willing to harass someone.
We will be filing a complaint with BBB & AGO. And also emailing Mr. Steven Lawrence. This will NOT be overlooked because the...
Read moreDisappointed at the Manager/Operations Supervisor (James) for not knowing the company's policy on price matching. I went into the store to purchase ammo and I wanted to price match since Academy.com had a sale on it. When I was checking out, the associate questioned if it was valid. She asked her co-workers and they said it is fine to price match online. I give her a pass since she is new. A manager needed approval, in which James came and told me that I cannot use the online price in store, but he will only do it for today and next time use the "pick up in store". I told him that nothing in the item and discount said "online only", to his response "online and in-store are different. We can price match other stores but not online". I read him the policy stated on the website but he continued to imply that I am wrong and I do not know the policy.
Academy.com price matching policy states:
"If you find a lower price on an identical, in-stock merchandise item advertised in print by any local retailer or by select online retailers (see qualifying online retailers below), show us the valid ad and we will beat it by 5%. We will also match Academy.com pricing for in store purchases and in-store pricing for Academy.com and Academy mobile application (app) purchases."
When I went back to the store the next day, an associate was able to price match for me with no hassle at all, nor a manager approval. Manager/Operations Supervisor James needs a refresher on the...
