T.J. Maxx — Local services in Eatontown

Went in to exchange a pet sweater that was a gift to my friend as it was too large. Upon bringing the smaller sweater to the front, I was told it was not possible to exchange since the sticker was removed and I didn’t have the receipt (it was a gift, again.) I asked if tender lookup would be possible and was told no, I was also told that they wouldn’t be able to look up the item I was returning. I asked to speak to a manager and the cashier referred me to Naomi — someone who wasn’t the manager who claimed she was — who said the same thing without a care.

As someone who has worked in retail for many years, I’m shocked by the fact that the cashier referred me to another sales associate when I asked for the manager. I would never do that to a customer! Luckily, the actual manager Jen saved the day and helped me rightfully exchange my sweater. She was a huge help and someone I would always plan on going to if I needed something — instead of not so truthful sales associates.

P.S. I also called another tj maxx to resolve this and they said my lack of a receipt or sticker was not an issue, and they would have been able to provide me a credit for the return (which I was fine with). It would be nice if all tj maxxes remained consistent with their return policy that can be found online: which says nothing against returning an item without the...

I'm going to probably come here for the rest of my life whenever I need a shirt with a button down or a collar. We hit this place up after going to the Monmouth Mall because I was starting a new job and I thought I needed to really look snazzy and cool. So I spent like 80 bucks on three shirts walking away. Feeling like a dingus. On the way home we see a t.J Maxx and quickly I realized the error of my ways. I saw five shirts that totally hit the mark and I spent less than 60 bucks. And honestly they were just totally better than the stuff I had in the mall. So now I have the anxiety filled dread of the returns I have to make in my trunk, but fueled by the excitement of my TJ Maxx purchase, I went to my new job with my new clothes, confidence boosting all thanks to the wonderful assortment of TJ Maxx items. I'm very disappointed in the way this store treated my friend and I. We walked in the store an hour before they close trying to look around. Then they made an announcement at 7pm stating that the store will be closing at 8. So please make all your final purchases and take it the front. So my friend and I went up there around 729 because I wanted to purchase a luggage bag. There was this young man who was taking care of a very difficult costumer. So I thought the other workers that was around him was going to help him or at least open up a different lane. They didn't, they were to busy chatting and clowning around at the registers doing nothing. We waited in this line until almost about 750ish. So I got mad and left.
