Nell — Local services in Edgartown

I truly wish I could rate this place 0 stars. Immediately after walking out of the store looked to see if others had the same experience & I’m not surprised (but disappointed) to see that I’m not alone. First off, the staff could not have cared less that anyone was in there. Second, they have a dog in the store with no leash that’s absolutely adorable so I went to pet him, and he was super sweet. My friend asked what kind of dog and with the way she looked at us you would have thought we had asked her to do the most annoying task. My friends walked out of the store a little later and apparently they’d overheard her say “I can’t believe that girl is touching my dog” while the other girl rolled her eyes. First - if you don’t want your dog to be pet don’t have it wandering around your store. Second, you could nicely say something or have something on the dog that says no petting. Looking at the other reviews this seems to be a common thing that if you’re not an actual model you are so beneath them, and that they will talk about you. Being kind goes a long way, and the sense of entitlement is incredibly off-putting. Also, the dog is definitely theirs, it’s all over...
