You may believe that you are doing nothing wrong coming into a diner and trying order food.. apparently you are mistaken. On September 30th my father and I walked in and dealt with the rudest lady on the vineyard maybe in the whole of the commonwealth. Blond, short cut. We come in to get breakfast… you know like customers. Immediately she was abrasive and demanded we know our whole order right out the gate… and you know what we essentially did despite not having ever been there. But she mistakenly noted a “Number 1” when we clearly ordered sandwiches , you think she might apologize for delaying the order but no it was our fault she is unable understand the word “sandwich”. It was when she rudely told us to figure it out and went to serve the person behind us… we were done. Got our food elsewhere. This woman has no business being in the service industry. If you are visiting avoid this diner...
Read moreFull disclosure, we love DSCS. Very consistent small diner food, breakfast and lunch. Good eggs, great Monte Cristo, great bacon, hash from a can (brings back fond childhood memories), excellent burgers and hot dogs (get there early-closes at 1:30), yummy sausage links, all served by real island folks with interesting stories. On the pricey side for sure, but it’s just off the harbor and, hey, it’s vineyard tax compliant - everything here is basically a king’s ransom. Very limited seating, but well worth it for the Dock...
