We are on short trip to Martha’s Vineyard and needed to get to the good restaurants quickly. Our first experience at Rockfish was a delight. Atmosphere was okay. We sat at a high top in the bar but next to a window. Not terrible but a bit noisy. We were offered neither a table nor an excuse for not sitting in the dining room. Service was terrific. The waiter was bright, friendly and pleasant. Drinks were served in a timely manner and both were correct. The food came out timely with the right spacing. The waiter was appropriately attentive to our satisfaction for each delivery. We ordered a clam chowder as an appetizer. It was delicious. Generous clams and perfectly cooked potatoes in a broth that was the right consistency, hearty but not too thick. One main was the asparagus risotto with scallops. It was excellent. The risotto was cooked perfectly, not mushy and great mouth feel. The asparagus was the same, good crunch and beautiful bright green color. The scallops were good but could have been perfect with just a little less salt and less cooking. Overall, it was outstanding. Lemony, not too heavy and a generous portion. The other entree was baked cod over mashed potatoes topped with an endive salad and green beans. This dish was perfect in every way. Presentation was spectacular. The crunchy salad was a great complement to the mashed potatoes but the cod was right there in the middle providing balance. The result was both a great flavor palette and three distinct textures layering nicely. Outstanding. The menu was the right size. We had a hard time deciding the entrees. The range of bar food to entrees offered choices for any mood. We would definitely return.

TLDR: service: remarkable. Prompt. Offered a wine taste. Graceful with finicky babies. Food: well-balanced flavors. All options amazing taste and texture. Zorana was the best server ever! I would give 6/5 stars if I could! We had our agreeable 14 month old [who decided to be fussy tonight] with us - Zorana was prompt with all the food, had a friendly and graceful demeanor, and was super understanding and accommodating to my daughters needs (extra napkins, straw with the cup, etc) The food came out quick and was delectable! I had the clam chowder (trying to compare them all around the island šŸ˜‰) and mussels. The clam chowder was the perfect consistency and not too salty! The mussels were the perfect balance of garlic and wine - the ingredients complemented each other so well. At the table: My FIL had the short rib grilled cheese. He said it was *very* good. The fries are shoestring - so the perfect amount of crunch! The husband had the Poke Bowl. It was very clean, fresh, and again - well balanced ingredients! I tried it and recommend it! The tuna was fresh and again - well balanced (see a theme here?!) My MIL had an arugula salad and chicken sandwich, which she loved. Overall, each meals ingredients were very well balanced. You can’t go wrong! The ambience was festive for the holidays! The seating was incredibly comfortable (we had a booth). I’m really impressed with Rockfish! And thankful for Zorana’s grace tonight :) cause this mama stresses when her baby is fussy!

Our first night on the island, hubby and I stuck close by for dinner. Rockfish is where we ended up. Although it is a bit pricy for off season it was yummy. I started with clam chowder. It was not the best I ever had but it was good and thick like a chowder should be. Then hubby and I shared the braised short ribs. They came with kale and leek mashed potatoes. We also ordered a side of hand cut fries that were delicious and very hard to stop eating!!! The short ribs were great no knife needed! They feel apart and wee covered with a fantastic gravy. I was do stuffed when I left there I felt like I could barely walk. Our server was AWESOME so helpful and polite. We gave us all sorts of suggests and must see spots on the island!! Oh drinks! Honey had red wine I know big surprise if you follow me he has that almost every meal. And I tried a lavender lemonade which was on the menu and it was quite different but good. We for sure will be back before the week is up!

Without question, Rockfish is the hidden gem of Edgartown. We have been coming to the island for over 20 years and have never visited this restaurant. For whatever reason, we had always dined at The Atlantic, L'Etoile, Alchemy, Chesca's and The Shanty. Because of crazy Covid restrictions we ended up having dinner outside at Rockfish. Well, we have sold ourselves short on every visit until now. The chef is AMAZING and from what I understand has just recently taking over the head chef position. We had the pan seared scallops and rosemary encrusted swordfish. I own a seafood company so I know how frequently these two are overcooked and ruined. The chef cooked the scallops to perfection, seared beautifully on the outside and tender and perfectly sweet on the inside. The swordfish was crusted perfectly and as juicy as can be. Whoever is the saucier needs an award, bright citrus flavor and ideally salted without being overbearing, the absolute perfect balance.

Anyone who hasn't taken a trip to Rockfish is doing themselves a disservice. We will be coming back and back again. And a very special "Thank You" to our server Taylor, who was fabulous and made our night beyond special. Thank you Rockfish, what an incredibly...
