If you want to be made to feel like an absolute garbage human being- do not Come here if you have a disability!!!! The manager yesterday at the front also the WAS side eyeing me and my service dog that i need to go everywhere with me -from the moment i walked in. He was so awful that customers apologized to me on his behalf. Making someone with disabilities feel like they are worthless because they have a SERVICE dog is BEYOND SICKENING ! Once i sat at table and was eating he then came to my table to tell me “HE NOW KNOWS MY DOG is NOT a SERVICE dog because he sat NEXT to the table not under it” the General Manager is unhinged and frightened all of us. Never go here ever!!!
(See below Seafood Shanty manager and please educate yourself and your staff about the rules of AMERICAN DISABILITY ACT) also see what the Seafood Shanty wrote below in response with 0 REGARD to their vicious GM remarks but yet a gaslighting spin instead) My DOG IS A SERVICE ANIMAL and Your manager has broken the laws in place telling me otherwise because he sat “next to me” not under table. Shows how ignorant all of you are and is unacceptable behavior you continue to condone. You taking your ignorance out on someone wirh disability that is unseen is DISGUSTING AND AGAINST THE LAW. Will be taking this to the full level extent of the law.
American Disability’s Act- For the ignorant rude owner to read: How Do You Treat a Service Dog in the Restaurant? Service animals are the responsibility of the guest when they enter the restaurant. The guest must care for and supervise the service animal. The service animal must be allowed to accompany the guest to any area available to the public in the restaurant, including a buffet, self-service line, or the restroom. At the table, however, the service animal is generally required to sit underneath the table or next...
Read moreWe read and saw so many reviews of this restaurant in blogs and YT videos, we couldn't be more excited to have our well deserved lobster roll at lunch time on Labor Day. We were vacationing in Cape Cod and took the ferry to MV with our bikes. We rode around Oak Bluffs and Edgartown all morning and were at the restaurant just before peak hour at 11h45. Since it was a very hot day, likely around 30C with humidity (high 80s) we brought our water bottles inside to fill them up (with water) while we had lunch. After all, we had to ride back to Cape Cod in the afternoon sun. It was very clear we were cyclists, we had our helmets and cycling kit. The hostess (I don't know her name, she was blond and wore a white dress) had us to throw our empty water bottles, mentionning it was house policy to not bring beverage from the outside. We tried to explain that our bottles were empty, and we wanted to fill them up (with water) just like we frequently do on any ride. She was deaf and just insisted that we throw them away. Restaurants typically have a little more consideration for active customers.
Honestly, at this point I would just have gone away, but my husband insisted as we read so many good reviews. Our lobster rolls were very quick to arrive and they were very generous in lobster meat, however, the dish in general was average. The lobster was fresh, but I would have appreciate a little more attention to the plate, namely mayonnaise and spices. The lobster was dry and the fries I got with it were frozen fries. They seem to have nice cocktails, however, being on bikes we couldn't try them. Honestly, aside for the waterfront view on the patio, this restaurant is...
