I gave away my old couch and chairs because they weren't a matching set, a decision I now regret. Admittedly, I LOVE the Briggs STYLE of our new Lazy Boy living room set purchased from Slumberland and delivered early December of 2015. By March, I noticed the head area on the far right seat (when facing the couch) was going flat. I tried to push the filling in the head area over to the other side of that particular seat, but it didn't work. In May, I called Lazy Boy, who directed me to contact Slumberland, who informed me that despite my one-year guarantee, they charge $39 to send someone (a local contractor) to take a look at it. The contractor tried pushing the fiber over from the outside, (as I did) but you could still visibly see the indentation in the pillow area where your head rests. He then removed the back, took a long needle and spent 10 minutes pulling fiber to that side of the pillow head area of that seat. He explained that the pillow head area on the couch was filled with what amounted to Dacron fiber (however Lazy Boy has their own name for it) and that I should rotate the individual backs of our couch and love seat on a regular basis to prevent this from happening again. This $2700 living room set is at most SIX months old. How often do they expect you to unscrew the individual backs of your couch / loveseat to switch them around? Seriously? I was so stunned, that I didn't think to ask him how often. Obviously, more often that every six months. I'm still floored by this idea. I'm 64 years old and I've owned a few couches in my lifetime. Nothing like this was ever an issue with any of them. I am not a couch potato. I weigh 115 pounds. My husband weighs 165 pounds. According to Google, the average head weighs 10 pounds. I can't imagine a living room set being treated more gently. I'm concerned about what lays ahead, after the year guarantee has past. I now wish I'd done some research on Lazy Boy complaints rather than trusting the name and reputation of Lazy Boy. It looks good for now, but for how long?...
Read moreMy review relates to my La-Z-Boy home delivery, for which I was charged $199. I had over $7000 in new furniture delivered on January 8 more than 4 months after I placed my order. I received a call the day before delivery stating that my furniture would be delivered between 12:45 and 3:35 pm on Jan 8.
The morning of Jan 8 at about 8:30 am, I received a call saying my furniture would be there in 40 minutes, a full 3 1/2 hours early! No explanation as to why they were coming early. Luckily, I was at home that morning.
Although the gentleman who called from the truck identified himself as "global solutions", the truck that delivered my furniture was a beat up truck loudly advertising on its sides that it was a junk retrieval truck, definitely not a "global solution". I wish I had taken a picture.
The two gentlemen who delivered the furniture took over an hour to get the three large pieces of furniture into the house, leaving the front door of the house open the entire time. It was 18 degrees outside that day.
Once they finally got the pieces into the house, it took them over an hour and six phone calls to assemble the furniture. Clearly, they had no idea how to either deliver or assemble new furniture. After they left, I discovered that they had assembled two glass-topped side tables upside down, with the glass tops resting on the feet of the table and the top of the tables resting on the floor. Both tables are missing one of the four silicon cushions that hold the glass top on the frame.
I have contacted the store to register my dismay. Although my salesperson has responded, she forwarded my complaint to management and I have had no response. I truly cannot believe they would have used the same truck to deliver furniture in one of the more "toney" suburbs.

Read moreGot a power recliner during the pandemic supply chain shortages, so I waited 6+ months for the chair (fine, I agreed to that). It showed up with a ripped seam that's gotten much bigger, but I didn't want to refuse the chair because I thought it might take 6 more months. Almost immediately after the 1 year warranty expired, the headrest motor went kaput. Should also note that the warranty is one year from purchase and not when you receive the chair, which is absurd. It's been 3+ months trying to arrange the fix, and even though the motor part itself was covered under warranty I had to pay the $150/hr technician rate for 2-3 hours of repair to take the whole chair apart. 3rd party technician was very nice and told me that La Z Boy was a customer service nightmare, and after not ever being able to reach their customer service hotline or email, I agree. He recommended replacing the whole chair back to avoid going inside the chair itself but La Z Boy quoted nearly $1k for that repair, which again, is clearly due to faulty production out of my control. Still waiting for La Z Boy to schedule the follow up repair now that I have the motor part. To be clear, the first hour I've already paid for ($150) has not yet been fulfilled! They took my money and will not complete the service. The chair is also already fully paid off. Buy your furniture somewhere else. I thought I was spending more to get a quality chair, but it's broken faster than Amazon furniture and been a horrible customer service experience.
If La Z Boy customer service doesn't answer their phones or reply to my emails this week, I'm going to start calling the Edina store where I purchased every single day until someone fulfills my...
