This is by far my favorite location to head over to frequently on my work lunch period. Was surprised at how thoroughly disgusted I was with my visit today. I attempted to order the double - smoked bacon, cheddar and egg sandwich to go along with my coffee order, to which the cashier had no idea what I was talking about... my response to her confusion, " ya know, the one on the croissant" and proceeded to point at the one on display behind the glass. Put my order through and received my coffee... sandwich doesn't arrive. Fine, whatever... I have worked in the serving industry and know how to wait patiently, so I start to enjoy my coffee and continue to wait. About 10 minutes go by and still no sandwich. I have realized that they probably forgot to make the sandwich (again, that is fine... it happens) and go up to the counter where I received my drink to ask someone to check the status. The three girls behind the counter near me, were congregated into a circle looking at one of the girls cell phones. I patiently waited until their conversation was over and they dispersed. The girl with the phone turned around and I said, "Hi, I am waiting for the sandwich that I ordered a while ago, can you check on that?" Her response, "It's coming." ... no, "what did you order?" or anything to add to the 2 word statement. After she spoke, she didn't move from where she was standing, reach out to any of her colleagues, or even put her phone away... I waited at a table for another 10 minutes, at this point watching other peoples food and drink orders come up. I walk back up to the counter and the same girl ignores me and walks away, so I hop back in line to speak with the cashier that rang me up. Once I got back in line, the girl that was ignoring me finally walks over to the oven and puts what I think is my sandwich in the oven (okay, food crisis averted) ... nope, wasn't for me. After waiting for the 5 people ahead of me to be helped, I finally make it to the front of the line to talk with the cashier. "Hey, I think my sandwich order was forgotten? I ordered it now 20+ minutes ago. I asked the girl at the end over there to check the status and she said it's coming and then didn't move to check on it... can you check on it for me?" cashier didn't remember what sandwich I ordered, so we spent more time going over my sandwich choice... after walking around behind the counter, checking multiple areas, she finally comes back and says "I don't know where your sandwich went, so I put another one in the oven." I go wait back at the table, at this point my coffee is gone (I am not a fast coffee drinker). The cashier walked the sandwich out to me and apologized for the delay and walked away. I reach into the bag and it is the wrong sandwich... I realize that this is a 'first world problem', but c'mon... I go back up to the counter and I apologize for bothering them again, but notified the cashier that now this is the wrong sandwich... her immediate response, "oh, I think we are out of the one that you wanted." I respond with, "ummmm? okay, well can you check?" Cashier goes over to the area where the sandwiches are stored (where cellphone girl is now standing), asks her to check for any extra sandwiches... girl opens the fridge, does not even bend over to check, shuts it and says they're out of them... to which the cashier walks back over to me and says, " looks like we are out of the one you want, you will just have to have that one." .... at this point, I have been at Starbucks for over 50 minutes (not enjoying my lunch break) ... ... expected the situation to be handled a whole lot differently, because lets be honest, its a silly sandwich, but the time that was wasted and the way I was treated over a simple error, was uncalled for.
This situation was completely out of the norm as like I said, I visit this location frequently... like sometimes twice a day, when I need a coffee fix, frequently... was not please, and will be heading to a local competitor when I need my caffeine fix...
Read moreAlways seems like service is exceptionally slow at this location even though there are lots of staff running around. I normally get a mocha with an extra shot or two and the drink tastes a little off here compared to the other locations. I've been going here more often lately because of covid and wfh. Normally I will go out of my way to go to the Galleria, Southtown or 50th st locations just to avoid this one, even this it's the most convenient from my home.
This last visit, I waited almost 20 minutes from the time I placed my order to when I realized folks who clearly placed their orders after me (at the registers well after I placed my order on the app) were getting theirs, so I went up to the register to ask. There were quite a few staff hanging around, chatting and ignoring me. Then a staff came up and pointedly looked at a woman who approached the registers after me. After he helped her, he walked away, still ignoring me. Eventually another person that had a manager air acknowledged me and had someone else help me. Staff need to understand acknowledging someone is so important in customer service. You may not be able to help them immediately but at least acknowledge them.
Also would have appreciated an apology instead of just saying it wasn't in the system, even after they verified the receipt on my phone and correct location.
I prefer to hang out outside until my drink is ready because I'm trying to avoid catching covid cooties. Would really appreciate if the other locations did like the Starbucks downtown city center and send a notification as soon as the...
Read moreOn a thursday I ordered 5 travelers to be picked up on Saturday evening. Saturday morning I called to confirm the reservation, I was told everything was ready. I get there at the scheduled time, and the doors were locked. The drive through was in operation, however. So, we went to the drive through. The clerk had no idea what we were talking about, there we got the manager on the phone. He accepted full responsibility, but declared he was going to a funeral and couldn't be of any more help. He did suggest that we try another nearby location, that he would call there and have the order ready when we get there. We show up at the other location, it's closed. There were employees inside cleaning, so I eventually got someone's attention, but all he would say is that they're closed, that he never heard from the manager of the first store, and to try another store twenty minutes away. Well, it's almost time for my event to start and I don't have time, nor the patience to go another twenty minutes in direction I just came from. His only other suggestion was that I should call the corporate...
