a two year ordeal, just go somewhere else PLEASE!. starting with a broken tire pressure sensor. i had a light on my immaculately clean truck for 2 years. i didnt drive the the truck much, just for the kids to and from school mostly. i brought the truck in for tire rotation . not many miles had passed but since i have lifetime alignment i brought it in anyway. they did the work and off i went. i had spoken with them about the light on the dash at the time, the manager wanted me to take my truck to some other location with no affiliation with firestone. i was frustrated and fed up so i just accepted the light and there poor business practices. Months went by, a few trips with the family over the summer. and i noticed that the tires were worn severely in the middle, (alignment). Again not many miles were put on the car. so i broght the car back into the shop with inquiries and the guy (big muscle bound dude named MIKE) says to me " if i was man enough" i would have know the problem. i still dont know what that means, insulting for sure but other than i dont see how my car knowledge is relevant to my manhood, lol. but i do know that i got two tires for FREE, which is clearly an admission of guilt. this was a problem stemming from the original purchase that now that had to warranty out my tires. there was a ball joint problem and i changed them out myself and then they replaced my tires. still no progress on the TPMS light on the dash (Tire Pressure Management System), which was the tire stem they broke. this brings us to current for the most part. Except for the fact the the mechanic who broke the tire stem also broke the computer jack where the codes can be reset. I didnt know what i was up against when i told them that the only other place i had been was a friends dads shop with the truck. immediately the manager said it was the other shop that did it, it was clearly not true and now it bacame a he said/ she said act. they clearly broke my tire stem and the computer and i had to leave with both, i am not rich and my truck is 8 yrs old and in perfect condition, but i now had these two problems. NOW to the present. i went in for an alignment, light still on the dash. but now i had the computer fixed. while talking with the attended at the counter, ERIC standing at another computer, i said that i had the light on my dash was on for two years and my truck is in perfect condition and that i cant believe i had to drive around like that after spending 30k on a truck and firestone has done nothing for me. ERIC gets involved and says, your being rude, i gave you two tires. one had nothing to do with the other and the fact that i got two new tires means they had to. it was part of their incompetance that two tires were given FREE. i am sure they dont give out FREE tires. i was right they were wrong. i got two tires. So now Eric says that i am rude. first of all i am the customer. if i feel jaded, its probably because i got screwed on something at his job and i was in the right place to mention it. the fact that the light went on two years ago and they did nothing for me to resolve it is a plain fact. so i stick up for myself. and the last thing i should have done was leave my truck for work. they rotated the tires, and when i went to pick up my truck, the light was off. but the funny thing is there was grease on the door, the seat, and the floor in odd places. i went back in and the guy behind the counter after he heard the problem rolled his eyes at me. this is a light tan interior, grease on my interior is ridiculous, expecially in 4 spots. I told ERIC, he came out and checked it. he went in and got the mechanic who worked on my truck who came out to clean it. the story should have ended there, but i had to take the front wheels off, let it me said that i am not weak and i have worked on cars for 20 years. the LUGNUTS were tighted down so tight that i needed two people and pipe seven ft long on the lug wrench to get the lugs loose. now the rotors are frozen...
Read moreI wish I could give less than 1 star. They are a scam artist operation. They run up the bill, lie to you. The funny part is that I had bought my car there after having to go to the dealer. The manager Pat said that the dealer was ripping me off.
I got my brakes changed. I needed them. I was told my suspension was shot, and I needed to get the tire rods replaced. It is dangerous. I get the tire rods replaced. 3 weeks later, my car is leaking
I take the car back, and to my surprise, there is a cover that is bouncing around in the engine, not attached to anything. Pat joked it off that it was no big deal. I was told the air hose was ripped and needed to be replaced. My previous bill was approximately $1,400 dollars and they pulled apart my car, it was a rather large air hose rip, how they missed it was beyond me.
I dropped my car off at 8, they had the part then. Nobody calls, and at 3:30, miraculously, they put the car in the shop to work on, and they don't have the part. They say the car is drivable, but i get a bill for a transmission sealant (which was never discussed)
1 week later, my car starts making noises. They laugh it off, I file a complaint, corporate says they need to make sure it wasn't me.
I just took my car to a reputable auto shop. The tire rod is the wrong size, they never did the alignment on my car when they "fixed it" If they did, they might have noticed that they put the wrong size. The tire rod, which was a necessity because it was dangerous, pushed my tires out. Now it is dangerous, and I need 2 new tires. that will be another $1250.
When I was there, the guys like to joke around. They even prank called me a few times.
Most liars and con artists are very personable. Maybe if they spent less time goofing off and more time working, I wouldn't be out close to 4,000 and I might have a working car.
They are scam artists only interesting in racking up the bill. You will regret going there
Adding a picture of the damage caused by Firestone in Edison. That gash was caused by them- if I continued to drive, it would have popped. I had to replace both front tires. If you value your...
Read moreStay far away, especially if you are a woman! Please read ALL reviews for this location NOT just the good ones. I was told I needed a bunch of stuff done to my car upwards of $2,500.00. I was desperate to keep my car working so I got everything done as advised. Turns out they put a faulty catalytic converter in my car. The faulty part that was put in my car ruined the second converter. They replaced the 1st one under the warranty but refused to replace the second one that the faulty one ruined. I do not see how I would be liable to pay for the second converter when they ruined it. I wanted to speak to someone in corporate to get this resolved. The store Mgr Ron lied to corporate and said that he called to discuss this with me, the Regional Mgr Shawn lied and said that he called me (on a Sunday) corporate isn't open on Sunday. And the Divisional Mgr Danny lied and said that he spoke to me. I have no missed calls or voice messages from anyone at Firestone. No one has even tried to resolve this. Clearly this is not the reputable company that I thought it was. Get your car repaired at this location at your OWN risk. They barely wanted to honor the warranty on the faulty part that they put in. If you have any issues with your car, they will ignore you, give you an attitude and things will not get resolved. They are dishonest from the mechanic(mgr) all the way up to corporate. Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else. I wish I had read ALL the reviews before I chose this location. BIG Mistake! I will also file a complaint with the BBB. And corporate if you have any interest in doing the right thing my corp complaint file # is 2793447 contact me.
Response: That is a fake automated response that they send to every customer with a complaint. They have my file # with my info and details of what happened. No need for me to email them. I made 6 calls to "corporate " and got absolutely nowhere. After researching online every customer that had complaints with this company and location NEVER got their issues resolved. Which means if the mechanics rips you off or mess up your car you are screwed. ...
