Really liked this place. We don't do sushi much overall but I think we know when things are "good". This place nails it all. Friendly waitstaff had solid recommendations and knew the menu well and we were satisfied with when we got it at the table. The menu has something for everyone and staff was patient and willing to answer questions. If you don't want the sushi, you can get a steak or other fare. It all looked great. Presentation was just as important to staff as quality Food came out as was appropriate and the wait wasn't even close to a problem.
EDIT 3/2025. Had this been our first trip in, we would not be back. We are still debating this. We popped in for dinner. Place was hopping but there were open tables, so not crazy. No waiting in line for a table. First, our waitperson was pushy. "Are you finally ready to order?" I'm not sure it was intentional but I think some training might be in order. It took forever for things to hit the table so to be rushed to order and then made to wait what I would consider a long time was frustrating. We had a mix of hibachi and rolls. Also, an order was not correct. For example, I order the shrimp and salmon, only the salmon comes out. Turns out the order was put in incorrectly. The salmon came out dry. We got it laid flat and I was quickly dismissed as the waitperson moved on. Our waitperson was pushing, and I mean pushing HARD, "samples" of swordfish and tuna. She repeatedly reiterated "samples" could be had with no mention of price. We oped for two each. Total, they were 30 dollars. That's on me. I should have asked but it was what it was. Lesson learned. We left really disappointed over the experience altogether, further reinforcing our opinion that it is just not worth it to go out to...

Cockroaches Expensive Poor management
My friend has been going to this place for a few years and she sings it’s praises so I thought I would try it out with my family. We walked in and we sat down and our server greeted us pretty quickly and was super friendly. She asked us for our drinks and my husband asked for a dark beer. She got us our drinks and told my husband that she didn’t have the specific kind he wanted but she could ask someone more experienced for recommendations. She tried to catch someone’s attention and he just walked away so she asked someone else and they gave her blue moon, she brought it back with an orange and apologized profusely but it wasn’t something to apologize for. She then took our orders and put them in and came back refilled our glasses and was pretty hospitable. I didn’t think anything else until my husband tapped me and told me to look near the bar stool and that’s when we saw the cockroach. At a fine seeming establishment that’s the last thing you ever want to see. We wondered if we should leave and tel the server but we saw that she was trying to not get under managements skin. There was someone running around yelling at people and he seemed to pick on certain people. We continued and my son got his food first. He said it was pretty good and we waited, our food took 30+ minutes and 2 of the 5 rolls were avocado rolls. The server kept assuring us that the food would come and was very hospitable and we felt bad for her because someone snapped at her for waiting around when she was just grabbing our rolls for us. Sincerely hope that they get the pest issue fixed as we won’t know we aren’t coming back. Will be praying for all of the staff since they seem to be walking...
Read moreCafe Icon is a fantastic sushi restaurant to see in Edmond. It's atmosphere is modern and more for a younger crowd, but not too much that would deter older crowds from stepping inside. Cafe Icon has many different "market" options for specialty sushi available on a seasonal basis, which allows for the more adventurous to try something new (such as swordfish). The food is well above average, though it can be a little schizophrenic, dependent on the sushi chef working at the time. Though quality is high, differing ways of making things like Nigiri and Sushi Rolls can vary between visits, mostly size of rolls (some have been made that are too large for a single bite) or presentation of the nigiri (with far too much citrus slices or cucumber slices). The specialty rolls are quite impressive, though many fall into the Oklahoma sushi black hole of "cream cheese in too many rolls." I personally recommend the Lotus on Fire roll for those who like a spicy roll. Sake selection is fantastic and the full bar is typically tended by at least a competent individual. On busier nights, the bartender is always well above satisfactory. The owner, who I see almost every visit, is incredibly friendly and will be more than happy to comp something that went awry (got a shot of vodka for waiting too long for sake a year ago). He shares a birthday with my wife, so it's always fun to stop by and wish him a happy birthday while he works. All-in-all one of the best sushi restaurants in the OKC Metro that offers great non-sushi food for a more "picky" eater (do the Lava Stone with Steak if you...
