Dayton Dental — Local services in Edmonds

I really dislike penning negative reviews but what transpired with my latest interactions with Dayton Dental really bothered me. Lesson learned: Check to see if Dr. Flugstad’s office still accepts your dental insurance before your appointment because they won’t tell you.

My wife and I were patients here for years with the same dental insurance. During our recent exams, x-rays, and cleanings, we were unaware that his office no longer accepted our insurance plan prior to treatment.

From what the dental office billing explained, the Dayton Dental relied on Regence to communicate this change. Our family received no notifications from Regence and Dayton Dental explained that they don’t need to inform patients of such changes.

I still believe that Dayton Dental shares responsibility (since the Dr Flugstad’s office is our direct provider of dental services) to ensure that patients are aware of any major changes affecting their coverage prior to treatment.

Had we been informed beforehand, we could have had the opportunity to either plan accordingly or seek treatment at an in network provider. This all could have been avoided with proper...

I highly recommend Dayton Dental! Seeing the dentist had always been a traumatic experience for me until I found Dayton Dental many years ago. I had just been through gum surgery since my teeth had not being properly cleaned for years by other dentists/dental offices . Needless to say, I was scared and hesitant of any dentist and/or procedure. I spent many hours with Cheryl, one of the hygienists, by my side explaining what she was going to do and why. She is a perfectionist, very professional, reassuring and truly cares about her patient and their comfort level. Thank you Cheryl for your guidance, concern and support over the past years! Dr. Flugstad's exams are very thorough, he does excellent work and he does not do any unnecessary procedures. It wasn’t a very pleasant experience at all, made appointment weeks ahead for cleaning and i was so clear that i want to do it in one appointment rather then doing it in multiple appointments because i don’t have time so we agreed doing it in one appointment with the person to do it in one appointment she said it take like 2 hours i said thats fine then I scheduled it to do it in one appointment but when i came in that wasn’t the case because the over book the dental hygienists and had no time for for today that’s so wrong to schedule you for 2 hours and then let you go home after like 30 minuets simply because all dental hygienists all fully booked how about my day and simply i can take any day off for next 3 month i have really busy schedule.
