We decided to try this restaurant (last minute decision) on a Friday night in the middle of summer. We were looking for a location that offered outdoor seating as we had my 7-week old baby granddaughter with us. As we approached the hostess stand you could smell the delightful aromas coming from the kitchen which opened up our appetite. We were seated immediately (no wait) and the service was exceptional. Ambience was very inviting and chill and the outdoor seating area has a rustic charm but tastefully decorated. The attention to detail makes you forget you’re in an alleyway. They offer a great selection of menu items to appease all palates with items clear marked vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, etc. We decided not to do a heavy meal but instead order sharable items and have a few drinks. There was also a great selection of non-alcoholic beverages available which was great since my daughter is breast feeding. I ordered the pineapple mojito & my son in law ordered a manhattan. The drinks did not disappoint. For food: we started with 2-appetizers: crudo tuna and marinated olives. Both items were delicious and the tuna was not overly fishy. Then we ordered the wood-fired pepperoni pizza w/hot honey and an order of meatballs w/polenta. Wow! Everything was delicious and delightful. The pizza had a perfect char on the crust and included the small cup pepperoni’s, sliced onions and whole (well cooked) garlic cloves w/sweet hot honey drizzle. It was absolutely delicious. The meatball dish came w/3-meatballs (perfect for us) and they were perfectly prepared. They were juicy (not too moist, perfect texture) with good flavor profiles and were served over a polenta and tomato sauce base. We were all happy with the dinner and definitely want to come back before I go back home...
Read moreMy husband and I just had an amazing time at Fire & The Feast, this evening, for his birthday. We talked about our experience the whole way home! For years we used to spend anniversaries, birthdays, or even an occasional “date night” at the previous “Shell Creek” and then, “Epulo” which, has since moved near the Edmond’s waterfront. I wanted my husband’s 62nd birthday to be special and it was. From the start, the greeting we received was warm, the service (Jack, our server, was knowledgeable, accommodating and very sweet!) and the management even stopped by to see how we were doing.
We started off with a couple of crazy good appetizers. The tender, slightly spicy with Calabrian chili aioli Calamari with pickled red onion (which in all our years, have only had as good at 13 Coins in Seattle). The roasted Cauliflower with toasted hazelnuts, sultana and-my favorite part of the dish-citrus ricotta, was accompanied with lots of “yums”. We shared a bottle of Barbera/Mauro Molino which was perfect with our main courses. Since I could gush about my perfectly cooked PNW Cacio E Pepe (Al dente bucatini with delicious mascarpone, furikake, Calabrian chili-hazelnut crunch and smoked salmon), I’ll leave a bit of space to say my husband LOVED his tender, fall-off-the shank Pork Osso Buco. And, those crispy Brussels sprouts! Surprised he shared a bite. Everything on the menu looks great!☺️ Finally, an on the house birthday treat of Tiramisu. Another delight.
Although it was a busy Friday evening and packed, we never felt rushed. Very comfortable in a booth.
We will be returning soon for another memorable evening with you. Thank you so much! (Sorry no pics..wanted to keep our phones put away this evening.. look at their Gallery on their website to see some samples of the...
Read moreWow. Ok so it’s our second time here. I didn’t really want to come back, but my husband loved the Carbonara so he wanted to come back for his 40th birthday and boy am I glad we did!!
The hostesses have been really friendly both times we have been here. Hilary our server was lovely! And we had the honor of meeting Chef Micah at the end of our meal! What a great guy! He really has an amazing talent of combing flavors and textures to make tantalizing masterpieces. So much so that the Carbonara makes my husband “almost emotional.” (Hahaha.)
We started our meal with the Polenta Friti and the Stone Fruit Salad. The Friti was crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside. My husband really enjoyed it. I thoroughly enjoyed the salad. The creamy fromage blanc with the roasted peach and cherries with the arugula was soooo tasty.
So if you’ve read this far you could easily guess that my husband ordered the Carbonara and has nothing but good things to say about it. I even enjoyed a few bites and it is pretty amazing.
I, however would persuade you to get the Scallops. This dish was harmonious. It was so rich with a variety of unique flavors and textures that went together beautifully. The scallops were seared perfectly, they just melted in my mouth. Combined with the candied scallions, lemon aioli, mushrooms and cilantro, it was really a dish like I’ve never had before. And I can’t forget to mention the “rice balls” I don’t know their actual name. They reminded us of falafel slightly. They too had an a amazing flavor and paired so well with the scallops. Chef Micah did tell us that he has recently re-innovated the scallop dish so if you had it before and didn’t care for it try it again!
Thank you for making my husband’s 40th...
