We love coming here. I have my kids collect all the books they don’t read anymore and make sure they are in good condition. They do buy used books but they HAVE to be printed within the past two years and obviously they need to see a need for them. We usually have a few books pass the inspection and donate the rest to the store and try to buy a few books as well. They always find one they are interested in! A gem of a bookstore tucked slightly away from the busyness of downtown Edwardsville, on the slightly quieter side of Vandalia. Were it for the beautifully done interior and the tasteful music selection alone, it would still be worth a visit; but the selection of books, particularly among the classics and YA fiction, is fantastic and very intelligently chosen and laid out, with many a pleasant surprise lurking among each bookshelf. I really want to like this store because I love bookstores and try to always support local businesses. However, this store is extremely small and makes me feel claustrophobic when it is busy. I want to take my time and browse books - this is fun for me. I liked their old location better because there was more space and I felt free to roam no matter how busy it was.
