After over a year of no sushi, my wife and I finally succumbed to the crave while running errands in Edwardsville. After seeing our number 1 favorite spot for many years - Nori was sadly closed due to COVID. It had been a few years since either of us had been to Wasabi, so we thought we'd give it another try. Glad we did! We arrived at 4:00 for dinner opening to be safe and try and beat the crowd. Reservations were required, so we called from the lobby and they got us sat down within five minutes. Safely distanced, masked staff, and thorough table cleaning after every customer was comforting, and allowed us one of the first few dinner outings in quite a while. A very prompt, warm and friendly greeting from the hostess was nice too! The menu choices were great and we'll explained, the atmosphere was pleasant, but most of all we were totally smitten by the incredible service by our busy server Marchyl! What an incredibly charming, energetic, genuinely friendly and efficient young person, with a great taste in music, as it was her song mix that soothed us over the wonderful dinner. We can't say enough about how enjoyable our experience was that night, part from the delectable appies, salad and roles, but also a huge part due to the amazing service! Thank you! We'll definitely be back...
Read moreWe have been customers of Wasabi for years and loved their sushi! The past year it has gotten worse every time we visit. The food is tasty, but the service and price is awful. We have to ask at least twice for the sauce with the shogun roll every time we go in for take out. This last time, my fiancĂ© was picking up take-out and stepped in the waiting area to allow the other customers in while he waited for our take-out. He stood in the hall area for 15 minutes, after paying and letting the hostess know where he would be waiting. He finally went in to ask and they said oh yeah itâs been sitting right here. Then we had to ask 3 times to ensure the sauce for the shogun roll was in the bag, and they still didnât put it in the bag. We paid 75$ for our dinner and got 6 rolls. They used to be very large and tasty, so we didnât have a problem paying the price. Both the quality and the size has decreased significantly. We are very disappointed that our $75 meal was no bigger than 1.5 takeout containers. We are very disappointed with how this has gone down-hill and will no longer be returning. There is better sushi at a more reasonable price that is just as...

When we were seated, we were immediately told that it would be about a 45-minute wait on food because of the special they were running. I mean who wouldn't want a special right? Although the special was news to us, My husband decided he didn't want sushi and got a Bento Box. I ordered 2 rolls. She suggested an appetizer since the weight would be a while. So, we decided to place an order for an appetizer. OVER an hour and a half later, we received our food. EVERYTHING in my husband's Bento Box was cold. He never got his salad (that came with his box either.) My sushi was "okay". It wasn't anything to write home about. We truly felt that their call in orders for pick-up had priority. Which is sad. They really need a designated sushi/cooks and staffing JUST for those orders only on days like this. Their tipping customers, in house, trying to enjoy their meals really suffer. While the Bento Box was removed from our bill (which we appreciated) I am unsure we will...
