After over a year of no sushi, my wife and I finally succumbed to the crave while running errands in Edwardsville. After seeing our number 1 favorite spot for many years - Nori was sadly closed due to COVID. It had been a few years since either of us had been to Wasabi, so we thought we'd give it another try. Glad we did! We arrived at 4:00 for dinner opening to be safe and try and beat the crowd. Reservations were required, so we called from the lobby and they got us sat down within five minutes. Safely distanced, masked staff, and thorough table cleaning after every customer was comforting, and allowed us one of the first few dinner outings in quite a while. A very prompt, warm and friendly greeting from the hostess was nice too! The menu choices were great and we'll explained, the atmosphere was pleasant, but most of all we were totally smitten by the incredible service by our busy server Marchyl! What an incredibly charming, energetic, genuinely friendly and efficient young person, with a great taste in music, as it was her song mix that soothed us over the wonderful dinner. We can't say enough about how enjoyable our experience was that night, part from the delectable appies, salad and roles, but also a huge part due to the amazing service! Thank you! We'll definitely be back...

We have been customers of Wasabi for years and loved their sushi! The past year it has gotten worse every time we visit. The food is tasty, but the service and price is awful. We have to ask at least twice for the sauce with the shogun roll every time we go in for take out. This last time, my fiancĂ© was picking up take-out and stepped in the waiting area to allow the other customers in while he waited for our take-out. He stood in the hall area for 15 minutes, after paying and letting the hostess know where he would be waiting. He finally went in to ask and they said oh yeah it’s been sitting right here. Then we had to ask 3 times to ensure the sauce for the shogun roll was in the bag, and they still didn’t put it in the bag. We paid 75$ for our dinner and got 6 rolls. They used to be very large and tasty, so we didn’t have a problem paying the price. Both the quality and the size has decreased significantly. We are very disappointed that our $75 meal was no bigger than 1.5 takeout containers. We are very disappointed with how this has gone down-hill and will no longer be returning. There is better sushi at a more reasonable price that is just as...

Apparently, today was a day of sushi specials. When we walked in we waited at the counter for a few minutes to be seated. They were prioritizing about 15 to 20 to go slips on the counter. When we were seated, we were immediately told that it would be about a 45-minute wait on food because of the special they were running. I mean who wouldn't want a special right? Although the special was news to us, My husband decided he didn't want sushi and got a Bento Box. I ordered 2 rolls. She suggested an appetizer since the weight would be a while. So, we decided to place an order for an appetizer. OVER an hour and a half later, we received our food. EVERYTHING in my husband's Bento Box was cold. He never got his salad (that came with his box either.) My sushi was "okay". It wasn't anything to write home about. We truly felt that their call in orders for pick-up had priority. Which is sad. They really need a designated sushi/cooks and staffing JUST for those orders only on days like this. Their tipping customers, in house, trying to enjoy their meals really suffer. While the Bento Box was removed from our bill (which we appreciated) I am unsure we will...

From a roadtrip, Drive all the way from Milwaukee to have a very good sushi at the Wasabi Sushi bar, all food are typical like other restaurants. I ordered a plate of varieties of sushi as the picture I showered her from online and sashimi, bento box and an appetizer. We waited quiet awhile for the food to come out. The waiter did not bring out the sushi just the sashimi. I asked what about the sushi? The waiter said ur sashimi is there. I showered her the picture of sushi. She did not order it and have to wait longer. I was very upset that I came with 4 people, and very hungry from the road trip plus food were not enough to fulfill us. And we drove pretty deep inside the city from the highway. I did not hear any apologizing or good customer service from the bar. Not too happy about it.

I order take-out and visit this Wasabi every now and then. The staff are nice but I have gone during non-peak times when they didn’t appear to have more than one person waiting tables. That’s not an issue for me but to others it may be. I would rather have a quality, accurate order and a happy wait staff than end up flustered over something that is out of that particular individuals control. The dishes I order are always beautiful and tasty. My favorite things to get are the squid salad, stuffed avocado, and low-carb roll. They’re all delicious and priced just right. The margaritas are great as well!

Gas. Fire. And any other terms the kids nowadays use to describe an enjoyable experience. Seriously, the food is ALWAYS spot on. Whether you get a meal, or are just there for sushi, nothing on the menu disappoints. The service has never been bad, quite the opposite, in all the times I've been there. Cecilia S. is a ROCKSTAR!!!!!. I absolutely love Wasabi in Edwardsville, that's why I keep going back.
