I was given a stark reminder why we haven't been to a subway in 2 years. We walked in, two workers were on the floor. They promptly went in the back and closed the door with no welcome even though we were the only ones there. Then, another 6 minutes later one finally came behind the counter to ask "how many subs". I'm not a high maintenance person but as someone who has worked retail, there are some basic expectations like a simple greeting etc. I asked if the $6.99 meal deal covered all subs....reply "I don't know, we'll have to find out when you're done ordering and get to the register". Helpful. I looked it up myself to ensure that our order would qualify.
I told him we needed 4 and I hat breads. Then asked about the first one and told him what we wanted, then was cut off "don't tell me toppings until we get there". OK, sorry, it's a cold sandwich but that's fine.
We get to the pool and and have everything rang up and it's clearly wrong where it's raining up in excess of the $6.99 meal deals we ordered. I asked about it. He said "....tax" in a wonderfully dismissive tone. I told him the pre tax total is off. He then replied "it is what it is. I can't change it."
I can't say I've had a more disengaged and dismissive experience at a food establishment. I would give it one star, but I'm legitimately excited that we have no more subway gift cards so we are never incentivized to come back to a place with sub-par food and terrible service.
And yes, like many others have stated, our direct experience was with the bald gentleman and the older man was also here but we did not have any contact with him. One would think such a well established pattern would warrant...
Read moreI usually don't like to leave negative reviews, but unfortunately, my recent experience has prompted me to do so. This isn’t the first time I’ve encountered rude behavior from an employee at this location.
This morning, I stopped by to grab a sandwich on my way to work. When I arrived, the store was empty, including the staff. I waited for a while, went to the restroom, and when I returned, no one was there. I stood at the counter for about five minutes, then looked to see if anyone was in the back. I saw the employee sitting at the desk and politely said, "Excuse me," but he looked and turned away, continuing what he was doing.
Assuming he hadn’t seen me, I decided to go outside and ring the doorbell, then waited a few more minutes before saying "Excuse me" again. This time, the employee came out and said, "Geez, lady, you just got here, give me a minute." I explained that I’d been waiting, called to him multiple times, and that I needed to get to work.
The customer service was very disappointing, and the older gentleman who runs the place is also quite rude. I value good customer service and fair treatment. When I’m treated respectfully, I’m happy to return—even if there’s a mistake with my order. But rudeness and dismissiveness are enough for me to take my...
Read moreI went in the other day around 2:30 for a late lunch. When I walked in, the one guy working didn't look up or acknowledge my presence. The only other person working left a few seconds after I walked in and the guy working started grumbling to her before she walked out about how people "only ever want to come in when he's busy." He was busy making what appeared to be online orders, but I was the only guest inside. I stood there for about a minute or two, still hadn't been greeted, while he grumbled and made the other sandwiches. Meanwhile, a couple walked in and he started talking even louder about how people only ever come in when he's already busy. After about five minutes of listening to his airing out of grievances, I just walked out; I didn't need his negative, impatient energy seeping into my lunch.
I understand being busy with online orders and I understand feeling overwhelmed, I've worked in food service before. But I also understand the importance of customer relations and a quick smile, nod, eye contact, and "I'll be with you in a minute," goes a long way.
This is my second time in this location, both times I experienced uncomfortable interactions with the staff. Subway isn't good enough for me to put up with...
