While my story doesn’t have the happy ending I would have liked it has nothing to do with the store it it’s lovely employees. I took my then girlfriend to “look at” rings and immediately the lovely Samantha pointed a few out which were not only in my budget but exactly what “she” had in mind (for privacy reason I’m opting to forgo her name). What really did it for me was that neither of the employees that helped that day were pushy; you see we had gone in for me to kind of get a feel for what “she” liked with the intent of returning at later date (because who wants to buy a ring with their gal right there). Well as is stated the employees were neither pushy nor nonchalant. We had also stopped at a competitor (rhymes with Fails) but the folks there seemed less than eager once I conveyed my plan to return at a later date. Finally, when the day came for me to pull the trigger I went in and bought the ring, a rather lovely oval shape diamond (not cut because as I learned at Helzberg, cut isreference to the proportions and not shape). “But Steve, you said it your story didn’t end how you would have liked,” you may be saying to yourself… Well that’s where Helzberg Diamonds earned my business for as long as I live, shortly before I presented the ring to my then girlfriend we broke up, with no one to gift the engagement ring to I decided to see if they would allow me to return the ring (it had only been 2/3 weeks since the purchase date). What felt like could have been the most embarrassing experience ever turned out being a great experience; all the store employees, even the ones that didn’t originally help me out, consoled a visibly broken shell of a man with their kind words. Not once did the employees make me feel like I needed to get something else or jeer at me. These folks genuinely love what they do. So while I don’t plan on shopping for engagement rings anytime soon I know my mother and aunt love jewelry so you’d better believe I’ll be there come...
Read moreI took my Wifes wedding ring (15 years old) into Helzberg to have it resized and cleaned. They had it done exactly when they told me it would be. When I got it back it looked brand new. I was really pleased. Less than a week later the diamond fell out. I took it back to them and asked them how that could happen and they said they would “work with me” on replacing it. I had them send it to their jeweler to get a quote on the repair and diamond replacement. They said they would call me in two days with the quote. A week later I still had not heard from them. When I called to find out what was going on they said that the quote was in and the reason the diamond fell out was that the prongs had worn down (which should have been noticed by them when they inspected it the first time) and it would cost more than they originally valued the ring at to do the repair and replacement. Then they told me that the jeweler (the same one who did the resizing) noticed a line in the ring from where it had been resized and for an extra fee he could fix that. So now they were not only charging me more than they originally thought my ring was worth to fix it, but they want to charge me extra for their screw up. I told them NO and to send my ring back. They told me it would be in at 7pm. I went in the next day on my lunch break and guess what. NO RING. They apologized and said it would be ready to pick up the next day. I then took the ring to another jewelry store to get a second opinion. They immediately pointed out the worn prongs and said that the shank (where the line was from the resizing) was done wrong and that they didn’t leave enough material to keep it sturdy and that it was already warping and going to break (from less than a week of wear). Save your money and time and the emotional turmoil and send your business elsewhere. This place is full of crooks and criminals and just want to provide a shoddy product...
Read moreBUYER BEWARE!!!! We were upgrading my wedding ring of 31 years to a 3 carat VS1 G. We weren’t sold right away at Helzberg, but went ahead and ordered a lab grown diamond. Once it came in, the diamond was brought out in a tiny Ziplock bag. When the salesgirl opened the bag, the diamond went flying across the counter onto the floor. She said oops and grabbed it with her fingers. They don’t use tweezers to handle precious stones. Then I asked to see the diamond under the microscope since I wasn’t offered to view the diamond and saw all kinds of dots all over the diamond. The magnifying machines are filthy too. We should have cancelled and left, but we gave it one more shot. We decided to get the setting sized and the diamond set to see the result. Came back to pick up the rings that were brought out loose in a plastic baggy again. No box either. This time I noticed a line in the middle of the diamond. The girl said it was a reflection. Who wants a reflection of a line in their diamond that wasn’t there before. I was not satisfied with the diamond again nor were we given an opportunity to look at the magnification of the certified etched number upon pick up. We don’t even know if it’s the right diamond. For all we know it could be a CZ. We asked for a refund and were told we couldn’t because the setting and diamond were already set. Seriously? I’d be happy to keep the setting but the diamond is terrible. 3 carat VS1 G. The diamond wasn’t customized so that should be refunded. DO NOT SHOP or...
