I'll start with the good. Its clean, prices arent bad, guy working the desk was friendly and helpful. Now not so good, not a single free barbell, barbell bench or squat rack. Only smith machines, anyone who actually lifts knows that's a huge difference. Dumbells only go up to 75lb, I warm up with that when I dumbell bench. No kettle bells, medicine balls, etc. In general super lacking in free weights. You cant maintain or improve your power/Olympic lifts here because you simply cant do them. I got a membership because I needed a place in the area to workout for a short time. I knew there was a reason I never went to a PF before. Just hope the horror stories arent true at this location. Decent place if you're a beginner or dont workout heavy, and I'll be able to make it work for a month but simply not a place for serious or experienced lifters. Also I would suggest getting some 100lb plates for the leg press. Gotta put like 8 45s on each side.
Edit: I appreciate the reply and added a star back. I did not talk to the gym manager because I doubt it would result in additional equipment (barbells, squat racks, lift pads). After asking around, all PF locations pretty much have the same stuff. It wasnt unwelcoming and it's not a bad gym. It's just not a place for heavier lifting or...
Read moreI travel to El Paso, and this is the 2nd time I have been here. I came in and changed and put my workout bag, rental car key and my clothes to change into after showering to head back to the airport. After my workout, I go to the men’s locker room, and my lock was cut and my clothes were laying on the floor in front of the locker. I was shocked and my heart was in my stomach. My rental car key was missing and I ran outside to see if the car was there. Luckily it was. I go to the front desk and ask one of the ladies if someone turned in a rental car key. She opens the drawer, and pulls it out! I asked her who turned it in. She said she didn’t get the key from anyone, but the other associate who was on the phone with a customer may have got it from the person that turned it in. Lady hangs up and I asked her who turned the key in. She said it was turned in 5 minutes before I came to the desk and she couldn’t remember who turned it in. I asked if they have surveillance or anything and she couldn’t tell me. BEWARE of this place. Someone there cuts locks and ransacks lockers. I will never return to this location. Staff is not helpful. I don’t care if this gym bans bags on the floor, but because of this, I will bring my bag to the floor. Luckily my belongings were still in...
Read moreI have been a member of this gym for a while, this gym has helped me grow so much i cant thank enough, the staff and most gymgoers who workout there are nice, caring, clean after themselves, but if there's a downside, it is that people who come with a bunch of friends. Now why is that problem some might say? They use the machine for longer than necessary (close to 40 min or plus, is this normal?) due to chatting, joking around, etc. At one point they were talking and laughing so loud, it was hard for me (and others) to stay focused even with the earphones on. Where is the lunk alarm when its necessary haha? Not only that they were moving around and pushing each other thoughtlessly and coulve potentially injured other ppl doing a dumbell press or any other workout in the dumbell section. Coming here with friends make it all the more fun to come to the gym but it think to a certain extent, they have to be respectul that there are others around. I think the gym enviornment would be much better if the staff here would nicely and gently advise a group of friends coming here to be a bit more mindful and quiet down a little and add...
