DG Market — Local services in Elfers

I had never set foot in a Dollar General Market until last Saturday. I stopped in to purchase toilet paper and walked out with $67 in groceries. They were having a sale on bulk ground chuck (in fluff packs), but they were out. As they don't offer rain checks, I thought I was out of luck, but the manager offered to let me purchase it on Tuesday morning (after the sale ended) when the truck came in. I agreed and finished my shopping. As I was checking out, he came up to me and said, "I realized that we have ground chuck patties available. Would you like to take a couple of those instead? I'll mark them down to the same price as the bulk ground chuck." I jumped on that and was able to purchase the meat I needed at an excellent price.

Manager, Rick, provided excellent customer service and was extremely helpful! Don't go in there expecting to see the selection of a Winn-Dixie. It's a Dollar General with an extended grocery section. But they provide excellent customer service. The eggs are always reasonably priced and it's a great place to get staple...

Most employees had masks one. During these uncertain times, this made me feel a little safer. The store was clean, and well stocked. Not too many folks were inside, and all seemed respectful of each other’s space. I don’t recall if lines were on the floor, showing six feet distancing, at the cashier stations. When I first walked in, people were bunched together at the register, waiting to be rung up. Didn’t bode well. But when it was my time, I kept 6 feet back, and the gentleman behind me did the same. He wasn’t wearing a mask, but the customer in front of me was wearing one, & I was wearing one, too. These are tough times, yet my cashier was friendly, helpful, and was wearing his mask. I could tell he was smiling, even if I could not see his smile. Outside, a masked employee was wrangling carts....

I loved the dollar general market. First time shopping at one and will definitely be a repeat customer. Great selection of fruit, vegetables and meat. There was a gentleman stocking that went out of his way to help me. I'm sorry I didn't get his name to mention him by, but no worries I'll get it next time. The only complaint I had with the whole experience would be check out and who I'm guessing was the manager at the register. Short dark hair, older woman, very unfriendly. I mentioned to her that I really liked the store and that it was my first time shopping in a DG market and all she could do was look at me she turn away. She also closed her lane after me and there were 3 other customers behind me. Overall I would have to say it was a good experience and one rude person won't...
