Review: 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐈𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐨, 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐲, 𝐅𝐋 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐈𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞 As an Italian family who has traveled to Italy and Sicily for over 15 years and has Sicilian in-laws, we truly know what true Italian cooking is supposed to be like. Every Christmas, we have an Italian feast. Unfortunately, I was the only one to cook this year, and I didn’t have enough time to cook everything. I had heard from several people that they loved Rossi’s, so we had them cater to a few items. We ordered the Chicken Parm, Meatballs and Manicotti. I made homemade Cioppino, Fresh Pasta, and my signature sauce, all from scratch with fresh vegetables and spices from my garden. When they brought home the food from Rossi’s, I immediately opened it up to see how things looked and tasted. I have one single word for what I uncovered: Terrible. I spent 285$ on this food, plus garlic knots and Caesar salad. Not a Merry Christmas at all. Chicken Parm. The Chicken Parmesan came with breaded chicken cutlets and sauce that didn’t cover the chicken. NO PARMESAN. None. I didn’t order chicken cutlets. I ordered Chicken Parm! Thank god I had fresh parmesan on the house and homemade sauce. As you can see in the picture, I had to put more sauce and started putting my parmesan top on. The chicken – Terrible. The cutlets were too thin. When I tried to taste it, the chicken was tough and rubbery. When I cut open a piece, the chicken wasn’t fully cooked. Meatballs. There is no way these were homemade meatballs. If they were, fire the chef. The meatballs were the size of a golf ball. They were too dense, not moist or soft at all inside. Manicotti. I can say this wasn’t bad. Some of the pasta was hard, probably overcooked. But the flavor wasn’t bad. Luckily, I make 12 Quarts of my cioppino and 16 qts of homemade sauce. At the end of the meal, ¾ of the cutlets were left over, and several people even left half on their plates. Several people did mention how bad the chick parm was and how the meatballs were store-bought. I realize this isn’t Italy, but several local Italian places are authentic Italian. This food was just garbage. We agreed that we would team up as a family next year to cook everything at home. I would never spend a dime again at this place. If you like this place, then I can tell you a great place to try that will change your mind. Questo cibo è una vera vergogna che non dovrebbe essere chiamato italiano

Decided to try this place out for the first time. Party of four. We didn’t have to wait more than twenty minutes for our seats, on a Saturday night which was nice. Our receipt indicates our server was Joanne. We got baked ziti with meat sauce, baked ziti w eggplant, lasagna, chicken piccata, salads all around, and two sangrias and two cokes. Salads were good and crisp. Sangria had good flavor. The meals came out and the lasagna and piccata were right. The baked ziti were both incorrect. Both came out as regular ziti - no meat sauce, no eggplant. We showed our server and initially she blamed the kitchen, but then said she forgot to add these items to our ticket. She asked if it would be ok for her to bring them separately, and we agreed although it seemed ok odd. Meat sauce was delivered in a soup cup, eggplant in a bowl. After dinner, Joanne brought our ticket, which we paid in cash. She must have revised the ticket to include the added meat sauce and eggplant, which should not have been added due to the error in the meals. When she brought our change she shorted us $5.10. We let her know and she blamed the cashier. The food really was quite good. But the service was laughable.

I have to say, this used to be my favorite restaurant when I lived in Trinity. I finally had the opportunity to go. Casey, our waitress was outstanding and the reason I haven't called the owner. I used to always order the baked ziti with Alfredo sauce and that was the reason we went. The waitress truly tried for us but the chef told the waitress absolutely not. I then asked if I could order and pay for the ziti and get the Alfredo on the side. Nope! I ended up ordering the tornalini and it was not good. I barely ate. I know they are known for their pizzas but that's not what I went up there for. I don't know if the chef was in a bad mood but a substitution is not that difficult. We also got a calzone that was good but the experience and pasta was not. The best part of our meal was Casey, our waitress that was so apologetic and we truly appreciated that. Lastly, it's a given that MOST everyone uses a creditcard to pay for their meals. The restaurant has Always paid those fees. To push that now to your customers to make extra profit poor practices. I've never had to pay a fee to use my credit card at the restaurant. Please remove this. It's not right.

VERY IMPRESSED and SURPRISED. it doesn't have much curb appeal, nor does the place stand our from the road. But I had some people recommend them to me and now I want to kick myself for not trying it years ago. The MUSSELS were excellent. The free bread and dinner salad are both just ok, but that is minor. I'll order garlic bread next time and probably soup instead of salad. The Seafood Pompeii was very good and downright excellent when I added some FraDiavalo to it. They offered to bring out more sauce and did. it was thick and chunky, just how I like it. I could have put it on cardboard and made a good meal of it. The portions were big, food came out quickly, JOANNE was a great waitress, busboy was super, the manager came by a few times, and owner came over and thanked us for coming. I can't wait to try their other dishes and their pizza, which seems very popular. I knew the place was good when I walked in. It smelled like a good Italian restaurant should. When you factor in how affordable it is, I have to give it 5 stars. I"m a food snob and hard to please. Now I understand why they've been in business for 34 years. ahhh, just burped and smelled GARLIC! Beauteeful!

UPDATE 8/31 Ok, I've now been back 4 or 5 times and MY REVIEW GIVING THEM 5 STARS WAS CORRECT. Their MARINARA and FRA DIAVALO sauces are absolutely to die for. Therefore pretty much anything with either of those 2 on it are crazy good. That includes the SEAFOOD dishes, PIZZA, etc. So good. I"m not as crazy about their white wine lemon sauce which they serve on quite a few dishes. It's good, but a bit too thin and lemony for me. My wife says the same, but I'm sure many people love it. I dinged them previously for their salad and bread, but that really isn't fair. They both come with pretty much all the dishes and when you consider their prices, and how good their HOUSE ITALIAN and BALSAMIC dressings are, you can't help but appreciate the fact that they include it. OMG, their SOUPS are amazing and you can get soup instead of salad if you wish. I"m in love with the LENTIL SAUSAGE. I've never had a bad service experience there and we love the family atmosphere. SMILING goes a long way in this area, so to see people that work there smiling.....well, that puts them ahead of 80% of their competition already. THEY'VE BEEN IN BUSINESS OVER 30 YEARS...

My family and I have been in the area for almost two years. My son had a friend that worked here named Mark. We visited for dinner and had the best service by Mark) and food about 6 months ago. For Halloween we decided to order pizza. When calling in my order yesterday I had a very rude young lady take my order. I mentioned I would be using a coupon but could I still add pepperoni to one of our pizzas. She said " for an additional amount" I was fine with that just don't recall the amount she quoted. I called at 515 and asked for a pickup of 615. You would have thought I asked for her to provide it to me in 15 minute guarantee delivery, by her attitude. I asked if it would be best for me to call back in a half hour. With a huff she said "let me check if I can work that out". She said she could and told me I was number 65. My daughter was to pick up the pizza as she was running to Wal-Mart for a quick item. She finished the one item pick up faster than intended and called to see if she could move the pickup time to sooner. Not sure if she spoke to the same person but this young lady was just as put out during this call as the person with me. My daughter arrives to pick up the pizza and the lady she was speaking to had manager on her tag. This person was also rude and was irritated about us trying to use the two pizza special coupon. It clearly stated no holidays. We were not aware that Halloween was a holiday. Even so it did not matter about using the coupon just the attitude about it and the point that I was specific in asking when I ordered because I would be sending my daughter and wanted to be sure I sent her with enough money. The service provided was awful and we will no longer order from here. With that said I want to say that the pizza was amazing and perfectly cooked to our request. Unfortunate that the unfriendly service ruined our selection of great pizza. I will spend my money where our patronage is...
