Jerrol's — Local services in Ellensburg

Driving back to Seattle from picking cherries in Yakima I was craving an affogato - two shots of espresso with a scoop of ice cream ( in Italy it is gelato)- so I drove into old town Ellensburg hoping to see a place that would satiate my craving. I almost gave up until I hit University street, looked to the right, and saw your sign with the words coffee and ice cream… A beacon of hope!

I ordered a scoop of ice cream and your employee asked if I wanted anything else - I said I want two shots of espresso- he asked, in a cup- I said I want to put it over my ice cream - he said oh you want an affogato . My eyes opened wide and I said Yes, exactly!!! My husband ordered one too.

The ice cream and espresso were some of the best I ever had and I live in Seattle! If you could add an affogato to your menu I think it is a great way to offer customers the amazing coffee and ice cream combo that isn’t a huge espresso shake. Less calories too!

I love that your staff person knew what an affogato is and then helped his coworker figure out how to charge us. This was on June 25 at around 3pm.

Added later: After having the Winegar's ice cream and coffee - we stumbled into Jerrol's marvelous bookstore. I was like a kid in a candy shop for variety of notebooks (yes some with recycled paper), pens, pencils, crafts. The greeting cards were awesome - several local and not so local card crafters - bought several!!! Saige helped check us out and she listened to my above story with a smile in her eyes. 12/22/20: I was in Jerrol's on Monday, shopping for a planner, an EBRG bumper sticker, and a calendar for my son. Jorge was very helpful in directing me to one of the items I needed to purchase. Then, he helped me to order the calendar, which wasn't in stock. I really appreciated his friendliness and excellent customer service.

Update: I was just at Jerrol's yesterday and as always, I received great customer service. I was also impressed by the excellent measures in place to promote social distancing.

Whenever I go inside Jerrol's, the employees are always quick to greet me and offer help. I've found every employee at Jerrol's to be friendly, helpful, and professional. They have a great selection of merchandise and if I want an item they don't have in stock, they are always ready to order it for me. Keep up the great work, Jerrol's!

Update 6/19/21: When I visited yesterday, another customer who was from out of town wanted to donate her points to me (since I'm a teacher) and the Jerrol's staff member at the cash register willingly obliged. I really appreciated the thoughtfulness of the other customer and our cashier!

Update on 9/11/22: During a visit on the 9th, Sarahlyn provided excellent service to me, helping me to try and locate a product that I wanted but could not find on the shelf. It turned out that the item had been discontinued, but I was still able to purchase several items that I wanted. The staff, as always, was friendly and helpful. I was shopping for a birthday gift on Friday. Though the staff was kind and available, I was particularly impressed with how they treated another customer. An older man had come into the store. He seemed to know what he wanted but was unable to find or communicate his needs. The young man working at the front dropped what he was doing and took the time to as questions about the gentleman's needs as he walked him through the store clarifying what he was looking for. He stayed with the older gentleman the entire time ensuring that he had everything he needed. As the old man shuffled to the front of the store to purchase his items, the young man was engaging him in conversation, bringing a smile to his face. The young man immediately opened a second till so that the older man could pay for his items. The difference in how this man arrived at the store and how he left was quite a sight. His head was down and brow furrowed upon entering the store, he seemed irritated and slightly confused. When he left his head was up and he was smiling. This young man certainly made his day. At Jerrol's, however, this kind of care is not out of the ordinary. They will go above and beyond to help you get what you need. They are invested in caring for each customer and the...
