My fiance and I bought my wedding band here in late July, and the whole experience was fantastic from start to finish! My engagement ring is a uniquely-shaped antique piece from the early 20th century and I wanted an estate piece for the band, as well. We knew that finding the right ring probably wouldn't be an easy task, but weren't prepared for how rude and dismissive some other area jewelers would be when we told them what we were looking for (apparently, wanting something with a story behind it instead of purchasing new or custom makes you cheap?) I'm originally from the Eastern Shore and had a favorite place on Kent Island where family and friends had been purchasing estate and antique pieces for years, but the owner recently retired and the shop closed before we could get there. I was starting to feel really defeated when we found St. John's Jewelers. Linda was warm, friendly, and super knowledgeable about everything in her store (of which she is the second-generation owner). She spent a lot of time with us, really examined my engagement ring, and made several fabulous suggestions about which bands would go well with the style and period of the ring (she even told us a few things about the ring that we didn't know!) I was surprised when I was initially drawn to a new engraved band, but Linda said "Wait a minute, I'll be right back" and returned with a platinum band with small accent diamonds from the 1940's that really complimented my engagement ring (even though the engagement ring is c.1910). It was perfect! Another couple was shopping for a wedding band while we were there, and, somehow, Linda managed to be as attentive and helpful with them as she was with us. The other bride and I even had some fun suggesting bands for each other, asking opinions, etc. It's really apparent that Linda (and the rest of her staff, who were also fantastic) loves what she does and genuinely enjoys sharing her knowledge with other people. We could not have been happier leaving St. John's Jewelers with my wedding band, a newly-polished engagement ring, a beautiful heart-shaped ceramic ring dish that Linda gave us as a gift, and a new favorite jeweler. Linda is also a designer and will create custom pieces using old stones, etc; I have a few pieces that were my grandmother's that I will definitely be working with her to give new life to.) We can't thank her enough for taking what had been a stressful and disappointing process and making it fun...
Read moreSt. John's Jewelers offer a wonderful experience from start to finish. I had visited other local jewelers and they didn't come close to how welcoming and knowledgeable everyone is at St. John's Jewelers.
On my first visit, I met Nikki. She learned about my interest in buying a tsavorite engagement ring. She asked good questions to learn about how I wanted the ring to look, my girlfriend's taste and preferences in jewelry and my time frame.
On my next visit, I met with the owner Linda. She offered valuable insight into the details that were available for my ring. We continued to work together over the next couple weeks.
Linda was quick to respond to any questions via email. She offered a fair price. When I told her I intended to sell some old jewelry to her, she mentioned they also accept flatware. When we went through the jewelry I was selling, she explained why some pieces were more valuable than others.
The ring was completed exactly when Linda said it would be ready. She aimed for a date one week ahead of my actual due date so that there was no risk of it being late.
Linda and Nikki (and everyone else I met there) were friendly and upbeat at all times. They were enthusiastic in a relaxed way. They offered me a great selection and then were patient as we crafted my own design.
I give St. John's Jewelers the highest possible praise. They are the best...
Read moreRecently bought an engagement ring from Linda. I cannot express how comfortable she, and her staff, made me during a very stressful experience. Linda is truly one of those rare people who loves her job, and genuinely wants to help to make sure her customer is happy. I was in constant contact with Linda, asking her dozens of questions, leaning on her to guide me through this as I have never done it before. She was patient with me, always giving advice, and just honestly caring about making sure I was happy with how it went. She did all of this with smiles and enthusiasm. The ring is absolutely beautiful, the quality of the ring is better than any other store/mall I looked at. Linda does not pressure you about the rings, she literally sat with my girlfriend and me and just had fun showing us all of the different rings. She listened to us, and made sure she focused on what my girlfriend was looking for, and that we were having fun as well. There is something to be said about buying an engagement ring from a locally owned store, instead of one of the bigger names out there. I cannot be more pleased with how my experience went, and would strongly recommend St. John's Jewelers to anyone willing to listen for their jewelry needs. My now fiancee(!!!) has already told me we will not be getting our wedding bands anywhere else, and I...
