My family had a house on Emerald Isle for 23 years, literally since my siblings and I were newborns. We went to this bookstore many, many times and it’s a key piece of me and my siblings’ childhood. Just like another reviewer mentioned, the creaky floors and labyrinth of books make it the sweetest, coziest bookstore I’ve come across. There was a time that signs were on the door that said they would be closing but I am so glad that they were able to remain open still to this day, based on reviews! Read moreI absolutely love the layout of the store and how well-organized it is; there’s a great selection of books and so many quality toys. The loud creaky floors give the shop character. My only complaints are the lack of sales (you’ll find every book for cheaper on Amazon) and poor customer service. Just this past week I visited three times and was not welcomed or offered help at any of them; I made a purchase each time, and each time with a different employee, and the ladies were never friendly or kind. There have been shoppers without a mask the last few times I've been in the store. Today the offenders were coughing no less and the aisles are narrow making it difficult to maintain a 6ft distance. So if you wanna shop safe, go somewhere else or shop on Amazon.
