Popped in here on a cold February night on the island. Immediately the owner spotted us and gave a warm welcome. Throughout the night his attention to guests took center stage. Recognizing almost everyone he was quick to say hi, wave a hand and stop by the table to chat. He definitely made a mark on our visit! At his recommendation we ordered the expresso martini and smoky old fashioned. Both were delicious and followed by more. There was no food service being off season, but we were invited to order from a neighboring restaurant. Soon the owner was serving popcorn hot off the popper to the patrons. Great treat to accompany cocktails. This place has a great local vibe, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the locals will keep Bar 1957 around for a long time. I’ll be there for sure!

Visited on 3/14; had an excellent time! They are still in their soft open so hours are a little variable, but usually after 5 they’ll be around. Located a little ways back in the mall, right across from Rucker Johns. Vibe is different than the rest of the surrounding bars in the best way possible, dark wood and modern. Brandon makes an extremely good espresso martini, highly recommended. Nothing but good things to say about Bar 1957, can’t wait for their official opening. Check them out!

Amazing find! Tucked away in the plaza with the food lion (across from Rucker Johns in the back), it isn’t easily seen, but make sure you find your way here. Most restaurants / bars close early, but Bar 1957 is open late. Amazing drinks, awesome atmosphere, and great staff. Met the owner, who seems like an all around great guy that treats his employees very well (“best boss ever” was thrown around by the bartender). Highly recommended for anyone looking for an evening stop.

What a find! Third visit to Emerald Isle and we thought there were no good bars on the island. Then we found this place! First… If you are a bourbon/whiskey lover, go there immediately. 30 or more varieties. They also make drinks with top quality ingredients all the way down to the cherries used for the old-fashioned I had. It was delicious. They have a decent wine list and a good selection of beers as well. Service is friendly and professional. The only downside is that the place is quite dark so it's not ideal for a mid day drink if you're hoping to keep enjoying the sun. they also don't have food but you can bring anything in. But if you are looking for a great happy hour or evening drink spot, this is it! Note: they offer a free shuttle that will pick you up wherever you are and the drive you home when...
