Good day,
It is with the grandest of pleasures and a heart full of Southern pride that I pen this missive to sing the praises of Rucker Johns Restaurant on the exquisite Emerald Isle. From the very moment our well-polished shoes crossed the threshold, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of unparalleled warmth and hospitality, akin to the embrace of a long-lost kin at a summer's family reunion.
Allow me to regale you with the details of our culinary journey. The burgers, oh the burgers, were nothing short of heavenly. Each bite was a symphony of succulent, juicy perfection, leaving us in a state of euphoric delight. My dear mother, a lady of utmost refinement and impeccable taste, declared her burger to be the very pinnacle of culinary achievement, worthy of the highest praise and perhaps a song or two.
The fried green BLT with shrimp, my word, was a revelation. A delightful blend of flavors and textures, it danced upon our palates like a magnolia blossom twirling in the gentle Southern breeze. The shrimp and grits were a dish to behold, rich and creamy grits that enveloped perfectly cooked shrimp, making one feel as though they had been transported to a veritable heaven on earth. The cheese grits, equally divine, provided a comforting, soul-warming experience akin to a cherished family quilt on a chilly evening.
Particularly noteworthy were the most intriguing potato creations, which occupied a delightful middle ground between potato chips and french fries. Their crispness and unique flavor were an irresistible accompaniment to our meal, a testament to the innovative spirit and culinary mastery of the South.
In summation, Rucker Johns surpassed our highest expectations in every conceivable manner. The combination of exquisite cuisine, impeccable service, and an ambiance steeped in Southern elegance and charm renders this establishment a true jewel of the Emerald Isle. We departed with hearts overflowing with contentment and spirits lifted high, eagerly anticipating our return. I extend, with the utmost sincerity and distinction, my highest and most fervent recommendation.
Yours most sincerely and with the deepest respect,
A Devoted and Distinguished...
Read moreWe eat at Rucker John's quite often. They have the absolute BEST fried crab cakes that I've ever eaten!! On this visit, my mother and stepfather were in town and my son and his girlfriend were going to go to eat with us, along with their 3 month old french bulldog puppy. We called ahead of time to find out if the patio would be open, because the puppy isn't allowed to be inside the restaurant. He does have a stroller that he sits in the entire time and he's still very tiny, so he isn't a nuisance. We were told that the patio closes at 4, but that they would accommodate us on the patio as long as it didn't start to rain(it had rained the entire morning and afternoon in that day) We get there and my son went in to check us all in and let them know we were there to eat on the patio. The young girl at the hostess counter either wasn't aware that we had already called or she didn't care either way, she gave my son a look, rolled her eyes, and told him the patio was closed. Thankfully the manager walked up about that time and was aware that we had called and told us to go ahead and sit wherever we'd like on the patio! The waitress, the bus boy, another manager, everyone that we encountered on the patio during our dinner were great! They made sure we had everything we needed and asked for. They all even had to comment about how cute the puppy was and some even petted him! I'm not quite sure why they close their patio at 4pm, one would think that would be the time they'd open it up? But I must say that even though I liked Rucker John's prior, they've definitely impressed me with the way they accommodated us all because of a little 6 1/2 lb puppy, my grandpuppy!! Thanks Rucker John's! Lil Louie thanks...
Read moreOur family came here to eat dinner on our only night eating out. We called 30 minutes ahead and was told that we had to be separated and not sat together, which was fine because we thought that they would at least sit us beside each other and would be able to talk to our family but no they sat us in a booth where we couldn’t see nor talk to our family. Noted we waited an hour to be seated for food that was okay at best the service was okay at first then went down hill after we ate and when we got our tickets ( we had separate tickets and separate reservations so not a large party) we noticed that there was a gratuity of 20% for a large party there was only 5 of us at the table the five at the other table so we wasn’t a large party so we asked our waitress Laurel why we had this on our ticket and she said that we was a large party but our ticket only said 5 guest we wasn’t trying to short her tips because we had someone that worked as waitress at our table so we know they live off their tips we just wanted to know why it was a large party before we could finish she was like want to speak to a manager (which was no help anyways) and before the manager even got back to our table Laurel slammed new tickets on the table and walked away then she came back to get our tickets she said “sorry you had a disappointing experience” (she took the gratuity off) well after we paid the bill she decided to want to start grabbing the trash and sauces off the table (rudely) so we left a smaller tip then we was going to leave her because of her being rude after we left she wanted to come out the door and scream “thank you so much” at my family while we was walking...
