This is an email I sent to Lia Nissan TWICE with no reply won’t be spending any more money at your dealership. And just to clarify why: First of all, let’s remember that this was a no effort sale on your part. I had been car shopping for a while and had already decided to purchase a Nissan Rogue. A family friend then checked around all the local dealerships and determined that the 2016 Rogue at your dealership best fit the parameters I was looking for. I got to the dealership at 5:20. I test drove the vehicle for approximately 10 minutes, then sat down with salesman at his desk, within another 15-20 minutes or so we settled on a price and I signed an informal bill of sale. He then directed us to the waiting area and told us to have a seat. At this point, it was 6:00. It was 8:00 before we got called in to see the finance person. We sat in that waiting area for two hours, and not once during this time did our sales person come in to check on us much less explain what was taking so long and why. During the test drive I asked if crossbars could be installed prior to me picking up the vehicle, salesperson said that wouldn’t be a problem. During a follow-up phone call I had with him, I inquired about the crossbars and he said that they were already on. When I said “Are you sure?” he put me on hold, supposedly to go look, and then came back on the phone and confirmed that they were indeed on the vehicle. They are not. During the sale, the sales person mentioned that I would be getting new plates, I said that I wanted to keep my current plates, I had them memorized and had only recently renewed my registration. I was then told that because I wasn’t trading in my old car that I couldn’t keep the old plates, and anyways it was only an $8.00 difference. Both of those things are completely untrue. After speaking with my insurance agent, I called on the Wednesday after purchasing the vehicle (I wasn’t picking it up until Saturday) to request that the runner transfer my registration instead of getting a new one, but I asked that they hold off until Thursday because I needed to be able to drive my old vehicle to where I was junking it. I was told this was no problem. I picked up the vehicle on Saturday. When I was just about to drive away with my new 2016 Rogue (with my old plates attached) the salesperson was like “by the way, there’s no registration.” And then proceed to explain, that regardless of me being specific that I wouldn’t need my old registration after Thursday, his Sales Manager wanted to wait until Monday “just in case.” I was then told that the runner would go on Monday and then put the registration in the mail right away. That was very annoying. I do love my car. However, I was surprised that the interior wasn’t cleaned before I picked it up. There was noticeable dust on the dash, some kind of gunk on the steering wheel and visible adhesive on the windshield from the sign they had just taken off. I called on Monday around 11:30 AM to make sure the vehicle was going to be registered that day, because my insurance agent had checked, and it hadn’t been yet. I was assured that it would be. While on the phone, I told the sales person that I had discovered that the crossbars, in fact, were NOT on. He seemed surprised by this but told me he would look into it and get back to me. Shortly after two on Monday he called to tell me that accidentally the runner had NOT transferred my registration, but had gotten me a new one. And now, I couldn’t drive my car with the “old” plates on them. Finally after coming unprepared to put my plates on and leaving me to have to return my "old" ones myself, he apologized to me and said "This isn't the way it's supposed to happen" and then said he'd call me within the hour to arrange for those crossbars to be put on like they should have been in the first place. That call never happened. And when I reached out about it, I was told the 'best they could do" was to install them at cost for...
Read moreMy first experience with Lia Nissan leasing a SUV was fine, although they put me in an SUV I couldn't afford. I wanted a Rogue and they put me in a Murano. I needed a car, because their service department told me that I would have to pay $3000 to fix my car. However, when I returned to Lia on Sunday after being called all week at work to come in and they would be able to finish paying off my lease if I paid 2 payments and then it was they eould pay all my payments off, if I made the first payment on the car a picked. I unfortunately had a salesman, by the name of Mr. Cyr. He told me to bring in copies of my pay stubs, names of references and proof of residence. I have been living in my home for over 30 years. Needless to say, when I handed him the paperwork he requested, he didn't even take them or give them to the zfinance manager. I was met and also called by the Sales Manager and then I had the pleasure of meeting the Finance manager. I told Mr. Cyr that my credit was not good because of being laid off from work a few times and a medical emergency. However, I always contacted Nissan Credit Acceptance to explain my situation and they would grant me an extension. I am current with my payments now and I intend to pay this lease off by Novrmber. After, spending 3 hours in the dealership, with my 95 year old mother in the waiting room, I was told that they could put me in a Silver Rogue Sport I had looked at. Bottom of the line, but I didn't care, because I wanted lower payments and a car that was more gas efficient. After 3 hours and getting a cosigner, Mr. Cys comes out to the waiting room where other people were waiting and told me, looks like we can't help you today. He told me to purchase my leased car at the end of the lease which would be $22,000 for a 4,year old car. The car I was looking at was new and the same amount. I told him, why would I want to do that? Also, while sitting with him and waiting for an answer back from the Finance Manager he told me that he hears voices from behind him sometimes like people are talking to him, but no one is there. At this point, I told my mom let's go, but he said we should be hearing something soon. I have a much better job now, then when I leased the Murano they put me in for a payment of almost $500 a month. I did some researh and when they don't want to help you or you get an incompetent salesperson, everyone gets the same credit score. It's crazy because Nissan Credit Acceptance told me to go in to the dealership and get in to a car with lower payments. And, now they are denying me. Btw, the Sales Manager and the Finance Manager never came out to see me before I left the dealership. So, I went to another dealership and was approved within 15 minutes. How can that be? The treatment we received at the other dealership was amazing. I should have never spent that much time with people who promised to help me, but in the end I had to help my mom out to the car and try to explain what happened. I read great experiences with Lia. I am happy for all of you. But, when a single woman with a good job and who is also a loyal customer (all my service checks were done there) is treated so poorly, I think it should be known. One more thing, Mr. Cyr never even let me drive a car. Even that first day I came in. I will make sure to tell others to do business...
Read moreI went in on Dec 29th for the $188 sign and drive lease for the 2015 Sentra. I called before going in to make sure they had this deal still on the lot. Kimberly assured me that the $188 sign and drive, True Blue, no money down lease was still going on and they had many of them on the lot to choose from (still have the voicemail on my phone). We went in and test drove a Sentra and decided to move forward with the lease. When negotiating the deal, Stephen informed me that there would be an additional $1,630 needed to be paid from us for “fees”. I pulled the deal up on my iphone and he brought that in to the Sales Manager, Will, to show him the $188 sign and drive, no money down, True Blue lease (“just sign and drive”). Will came back with Stephen this time and said he realized that we were looking for this deal, but unfortunately those two Sentra’s were no longer on the lot. But if we met him halfway and paid $814 that Lia would pick up the other half of the fees for us. My wife and I talked about it and decided that the deal was too good to pass up and decided to go with it. Will told us that our lease would be $188 plus tax.
I was then passed off to Stew for the final signing. Stew pointed out that there was tax added on to the 188 that would be added to the payment. I told him I knew that and understood. When signing the paperwork, I asked Stew why the payment was $223? He stated, it is because he added the taxes in for me. I took him at his word and finished signing the paperwork. Much to my dismay, I reviewed the paperwork because $40 in taxes seemed pretty high to me. Come to find out Stew lumped the $814 that Lia was going to pick up as their half and put it in to the cost of the vehicle. So it made my base payment go to $210.62 instead of $188. I fell for the old bait and switch. I do understand that I signed the lease, but had I had the time to do the math, I never would’ve signed it because I didn’t agree to have that $814 rolled in to my cost. I agreed to a payment of $188 a month plus tax with Lia meeting me halfway with the other $814. The way my payment works out now is $210.62 + 13.37 tax for a total of $223.99. I understand that $22.62 a month doesn’t seem like a big deal, but over the course of the lease that adds up.
I called on Dec. 30th to point this out and asked if they can make this right for me. I'm out $814 over the life of the lease. I asked if maybe they could offer me oil changes or maintenance to help offset this and haven't heard from anyone. You can make this right and I hope you will. Next stop is the BBB to...
