Some of the service here is nice. I usually just get a soda, and I either do some video editing here or go through the drive-thru. My one problem and the reason I’m not giving five stars is the service. Sometimes I meet nice people, but some employees are very disrespectful. I’ve encountered three employees who were rude.
Whenever I go through the drive-thru and say hi, one person quietly says, “Okay,” which felt very rude. The next time I tried the same greeting, another employee said “Okay” quietly again. I thought maybe I was saying it wrong, so I tried going inside. No, not inside—I went through the drive-thru and said, “Hi, I’m part of the Safe Club. My phone number is XXXX.” A lady responded very rudely with, “Okay, I’m not even at the—”
I used to work at a fast-food restaurant, and I know how disrespectful that is. If I had done that to a customer, they would have cussed at me. No offense to Panera, but you need to have a talk with your employees because that behavior is not acceptable. I was being respectful I don’t yell, and I understand employees have lives but this was unprofessional.
I don’t know the employees’ names, but I wish I did because they need to be told that this was not respectful. If a customer says, “Hi, I’m part of the Sip Club,” you should respond appropriately: “All right, what’s your phone number?” Instead, I was met with rudeness and attitude.
Some of your employees are very nice, but the ones I encountered at the drive-thru were extremely disrespectful. They need to fix their attitudes. You don’t need to smile or chat just respond politely and professionally.
What angered me the most was today with that lady, when she said, “Okay, I’m not even at the dial, so you’ll have to repeat that again, sir.” Seriously? If I had done that to a customer, I would have been in trouble. I wish I could get her name to report her because this behavior is unacceptable.
I don’t like yelling at people, but I have to say it: if I meet that lady again and she gives me the same attitude, I won’t respond respectfully because I was treated unfairly.
Panera, please instruct your employees to be respectful when customers come in or through the drive-thru. Greet them politely or simply ask, “How can I help you today?” Never give a customer attitude you’re not paid to be rude. I’ve had long days, and a rude employee just...
Read moreSo, normally I love Panera. However today while at work I got lunch delivered from them and was EXTREMELY upset. If i could have I would have given them 0 stars.
I ordered a pick 2 and got a soup and salad....First thing that went wrong was the amount they charged my credit card. The pick 2 cost $15.39 including tax, plus the $3.50 delivery fee made it $18.89...but they charged my card $22.67. After doing the math I realized that they AUTOMATICALLY CHARGED ME A 20% TIP. It took me a while to figure this out because i didnt think they would include the delivery fee in the percentage for the tip...but of course they did. But I'm a nice person and a good tipper so I thought whatever I was going to tip anyways. When the food arrived I asked the delivery guy about it and he had no idea so I just figured it was only a little more than I normally would tip so forget it. So I ended up spending $22.67 for a small soup and salad with about $10 of that being delivery fee and tip so almost half the cost. Dont get me wrong I am a good tipper and didnt really care about the tip part, I just wasnt fond of the fact that they did it AUTOMATICALLY.
This is the bad part.... I STARTED EATING MY SALAD AND BITE DOWN ON SOMETHING HARD AND SHARP THAT CUT MY MOUTH!! I took this thing out of my mouth and am honestly not even sure what it is, maybe plastic but it was awfully sharp for plastic.
I immediately called panera and they offered to refund me the money...but would only give me back the base amount and insisted that they did not charge me an automatic tip. I assured her that this was the first time in weeks that I had used this specific credit card and that I get notifications from the card every time it is used and the notification came back saying $22.67 had been charged. The lady from Panera looked into it and again assured me they only charged me the base amount of $18.89 and so that was the only amount they can refund!
I will never be going to this panera again...maybe never any Panera and i urge the rest of you not to either or at the least to check your food thoroughly before eating and to not use there delivery service unless you want to be charged a delivery fee and a 20% tip on the food AND DELIVERY FEE AUTOMATICALLY. Very upset and honestly...
Read moreI wanted to wait to give Panera in Enfield Ct an honest review. I've been going there for 2 years now. I ordered a caramel latte and there was no caramel in it and the ice was melting. I was on my 15 minute break and couldn't go back. I went back a couple hours later to have them give me a new one. I explained my situation to the manager there and he gave me an attitude. He then remade it for me but didn't make it right again. I was in a rush so I ran home for lunch then went back to be reimbursed. The manager did not want to reimburse me. He told me he has been making lattes for five years and was making them the Panera way. If he had known what he was doing then why didn't my caramel latte have caramel in it. Today I ordered my espresso ahead of time to be sure it would be ready in time for my 15 minute break. I was notified that it was ready and waiting for me. I went in to get it and saw the manager that previously gave me a hard time. I used the bathroom then went to grab my espresso. It wasn't on the counter. I saw the manager and he was talking to a coworker about me. I asked for my espresso and he lied and said it was never on the screen and took his sweet old time pouring my espresso. If it was never on the screen then why did I get a notification saying it was ready. He deleted it from the screen. There's tons of people that need jobs. Panera needs to find better management and let him go. Managers shouldn't be arguing with the customer. They should fix the problem and that should be the end of it. I spend alot of money there to be treated so poorly. The woman barista there however is awesome and knows what she is doing. The tall guy with dark hair is awesome too. You should make her or him manager and demote the other manager with glasses. He should not be allowed to interact...
