Purchased a beautiful inlaid ring for myself for just under $400.00 while vacationing and 2 years later I looked down at my ring one day and 80% of the stones had fallen out. I brought it back to see what they had to say about it and the owner told me inlaid jewelry doesn’t last forever and what did he expect me to do about it? I said that if it were me I would take it back send it to the artist who they represented and have him repair it and ask the customer if they would like to pick out something else of equal value or wait for it to be repaired. Instead they gave me a phone number of the artist and said they couldn’t do anything for me and good luck. I was flabbergasted, that is not at all what I would expect for a small independent business who depends on good customer service to spread the word about what a great experience they had at the store. I will let you decide if you want to spend your hard earned money on a shop who I guess prides themselves on selling to outsiders who they may...
Read moreBUYER BE WARE. I purchased a ring Memorial Day weekend. The ring had a tag but the description and price had been torn off. I asked the sales lady what the stone was and how much the ring was. She handed the ring to Alvin the mgr and he said “That’s a black opal. It’s the only one in the store”. The sales person quoted my $60. I bought it and gave it to my daughter. Opals are her birthstone and she has several. She has only worn it a few times, and the stone which was black with inner fire is now green and dull. I called and inquired about the issue and was passed on to Alvin. I sent him photos and just wanted a partial refund as it is not what HE said it was. He stated I bought what I liked, didn’t have to buy it and that he doubts it is the same ring. He has accused me of not properly being taking care of my jewelry. He then sent me a photo of their return policy. This shop is not cheap. I didn’t want tourist items for my daughters. I wanted quality jewelry. I was dooped. Don’t make the...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped by to try to find me a ring. I have recently lost some weight and my wedding ring and band fit me lose. I heard great things about Dakotahs from a coworker and we decided to give it a try. My husband has some knuckle and hand tattoos. He is very pleasant and doesnt say much. From the second we walked in the store the older lady with red wavy hair behind the counter was glaring at us. We tried to walk around the store but just felt watched. We tried to look past it and moved to the back of the room where they have a large selection of rings. Before I could look at a ring she was standing behind the counter staring at me as if I was going to steal a 40 dollar ring. Yes, there was other people in the store at this point but her focus was on us. I felt extreamly uncomfortable and we decided to leave. I doubt I will ever return to this store and I will warn other people about...
